It seems I have trouble speedpainting in Photoshop. Mainly because I get distracted, and keep improving a picture until it's no longer a speedpaint. I spent quite a while fiddling around with the colors and composition on this picture. It looks fairly quick, but I think I must have went through at least three different backgrounds. And at least as many color schemes.
I tried adding buildings, trees, clouds to add a bit more shape to the sky. In the end, I removed all those things, and decided to go for a clear night sky.

If this one is too small to be an ideal wallpaper, I have a higher res version on DA. http://chromamancer.deviantart.com/.....zing-168024323
Click the download link near the top right for a 1855x1200 pixel version.
I can upload a larger version too, if needed.

I used something kind of like this: http://www.webdesign.org/photoshop/.....ield.3811.html
That's a better tutorial than the method I used, though. I just found it.
I might have to go back and re-do my stars in this picture now.

Hmmmm...Pretty. Actually a bit nostalgic to me. The starry night-sky is probobly one of the few things, that i can paint well in real. You just needed the black sky and then you'd take a brush and dip it in the white pain, and hold it over the painting, then flick the brushes body with your index finger, and voila: You got many white stars on your black sky. So simple and so easy to do in real. Of course it's easy to do digitally to, just have to know the method. Looks pretty.
I'm glad you enjoy it.
I don't know if you saw it already, but I also uploaded a process reel that shows how this was made. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4036907/
