It would mean so much to me if I could maybe one day win this award. As its probably the only literary award id ever really ever be elligible for LOL. I said "collection" before, but it's distinctly possible that he actually has a folder of vids he took at these kinds of events. Star might just be the first time he's tried to blackmail someone with them.
Don't know, maybe we'll find out the details of all this later. If not: it's not entirely plot relevant anyway, so I don't mind if the details are't expanded on.

I look at it this way:
She basically put him in a situation he can't weasel out of. Either he can suck it up and abandon his pride or he could very well lose his livelihood for his infractions. Maybe he still will.
Point is, people who do bad things need to be punished in a way that they can't squirm out of. Often it takes some unorthodox vigilantism to get that done. It's just that here it has the scent of baby powder attached to it. :P
But. I do agree that letting Star see the fruits of that labor, let alone firsthand, probably wasn't a wise idea. Since she's very vulnerable and delicate when she lets her guard down, and, as she said herself a page or two ago, seeing something used for her comfort used to hurt someone else would definitely leave a sour taste in one's mouth...
...Of course, this is just a comic, so doing it this way lets artist!Star do more showing and less telling, therefore it makes sense from a storytelling perspective to orchestrate it to happen this way lol.

Plus, and I really hate to psychoanalyse (also, if BabyStar deletes this comment I'll completely understand), there's also the fantasy element to it. In particular: Revenge Fantasy. BabyStar's made it no secret that this situation is modelled, at least in part, after a previously abusive relationship she was in. So I can totally understand if she felt like indulging in a bit of... let's say "wish fulfilment". Does this make her a bad person? No, not at all. This is a perfectly harmless way to vent a little. I'd much rather she write/draw a comic where characters take part in vigilantism than for her to unhealthily bottle those feelings up.
And again, if this comment gets deleted because I touched on something a bit too "real", or personal, or the like? I totally understand, and I sincerely apologise if I upset anyone.

The world doesn't revolve around Star. Tessa also has her own reasons. She is a proud vixen and so for her there is a certain level of standard and rules that come with ABDL. I think she also did it to preserve the integrity of the event.
That things like this do not go unpunished.

Unfortunately it can be easier to blame yourself, rather than the people that actually deserve it.
In this case, I'd assume Star is thinking that if only she had seen Marellis, if only she hadn't mouthed off to him, if only...
It's not her fault, but it's so easy to convince yourself that you're the one to blame, because you're around to blame and they aren't.

Star doesn't open up to people. She tries to figure out and get through things on her own. This is probably one of the first times she's really opened up to someone. So seeing the stress and pain it's causing him, she's probably blaming herself, that she should have just handled it on her own like she always does.
It's not healthy, but it's a thought process a lot of people go through. Sometimes when you're in the pit, it's hard to see the light of truth.

It is a separate list, I was saying that because you'd been nominated the year before I was surprised that didn't carry over since the comic is still ongoing. I don't know how Ursa Major compiles their recommended list (I'm not on their committee), I just assume it's similarly done to the nominations. If you nominate something not on their list, you have to link to it. A mild inconvenience, of course. Just thought it was odd.
I'd be careful putting this comic out there. With how realistically the abuse was portrayed anyone who went through that growing up will definitely have all of those memories brought back to the surface when they read those parts, especially since there's no CW/TW so it'll no question catch them off guard amidst the escapism.
So you think a comic worthy of accolades should not receive the acknowledgement it deserves because a minority of a minority of people might have their PTSD triggered by it 2/3'rds of the way through reading it? Do you believe all genres of fiction with potentially disturbing imagery need trigger warnings too? Even old V.C. Andrews books from the 80's that have graphic depictions of child molestation, incest and murder? Those kind of warnings are a courtesy, and I don't personally feel that fans should hesitate to applaud a fictional work because someone out there might hear about the award, read page 1 where it does say "This is an adult baby comic with adult themes", cruise through hundreds of pages and get offended. That's the kind of moral hesitation that assumes people can't make decisions for themselves or think like an adult.
Say for example, someone with RL combat experience deliberately, willfully and knowingly reads other soldiers' nonfiction accounts of their experiences years later. Something in the text triggers a flashback, they drop the book and end up in a fugue state for an hour. Is that now the author and publishers' fault for not stamping "TRIGGER WARNING" all over the inside and outside of the novel? I realize you're not calling for censorship, but this is still along the same vein, don't you think?

This is something I've always been conflicted on. Yes I do say the comic has adult themes throughout and I do believe I have indeed put some content warnings in various pages that I thought were more extreme (One that springs to mind is the star punchbag dad scene) But I never really know where to put content warnings. Do I stamp them on every page because some folk might get upset by a line of text or an action?
I'm not gonna lie after drawing the knee bouncing scene back at the party Once star was outside at the pond with martin and she was safe, I had a bit of a breakdown myself and couldnt look/draw the comic for months. It's hard knowing what will trigger people and what's fine. And I'm not out specifically to trigger people, thats not my intention, everyone has a personal journey and things will effect people in different ways.
And here's where I get selfish...I want people to be on as pure a journey with me as possible. They're supposed to feel angry and upset and outraged at certain parts of the story, thats the whole point, if I warn people that's how theyre going to feel doesnt that detract from the experience? Like watching a horror movie and being told the various points that the bad guy will jump out at you it takes the life out of it...people who read the spoiler will be dissapointed the trick has been revealed but some will beable to make better informed decisions as to whether its something they want to read or not. Im not really sure how to balance that having already stated at the beginning the comic contains adult themes. ...Maybe something generic at the top of each page like "This comic contains adult themes please do not read if you're feeling distressed or emotionally weak today"...or something to that effect?
Though if someones got this far in the comic they've pretty much gotten through the worst the comic is really going to offer..but i could add that to pages in retrospect

Wow... So many things to consider when you write texts/comics for the world to read... You definitely have my respect for having reached more than 350 comic pages, and show the great along with the not-so great parts of being an ABDL, woven from your prior experience and brought to concrete...
Once again, thank you ⭐w⭐

She clearly subscribes to the notion that the ends justify the means, which makes a lot of sense given the nature of her job. She also clearly doesn't realize that she did cross some boundaries, but unfortunately no one's going to convince her of that, because she did get the job done, and she did it to defend Star so in her mind she's justified.
But yeah I don't like that she's talking that way to Martin, knowing full well that no one is going to antagonize the trained killer in the room.

all isee at the star in the middle of a situation she doesn't feel is 100% right. think she wanted to get revenge agaisnt marellis but in her own time. but star also needed time away from that and build some thought while be in a place of saftey but that was destroyed now two people she is learning to trust showed another side of reality unfortunately. but still star has had to go through emotions being stuck in the middle. in the end she feels guilty when she doesn't have to be but shes also has to make sense of whats happening (insert brain explosion here). at this moment i think star just wants to be somewhere else since she knows also whats pending back at work.
as for marellis he does look like a cutee wootey baby bun and he did get what he deserved.

Okay. First off, Tessa, back off. You may be right about this needing to be done, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a bitch towards Martin. He’s also right.
Second, Star, it’s not your fault. How could it be? It’s not like you knew Matt was going to be there and that he was going to do these things. And it’s certainly not like you helped him or anything either.

when I was 9 ish me and my child hood buddy would get a little rough ...but if either one of really punched or kicked or hurt the other we would let the one who was hurt make the other do something like if I punched him to hard he might make me run around yelling I'm a little teapot or something like that
What I find super interesting about this page is Star's reaction.
Her pleading out to her parental figures to please stop arguing over her and the guilt that comes comes it is something so raw and that many probably have lived through. I really like how it's being portrayed here.
