Bio:
Marianna el Katswell was one of the finest finest explorers of the new world the Earth has ever seen, but she wasn't always like that. When she was a young kitten living in the Spanish mainland, she wanted to journey with her father, who worked for the prestigious El Gato Claws Trading Company, and its ruthless boss, Hernan Cattez, to this "new world" that everyone was talking about. But, girls weren't allowed to go on these voyages, for it would've been TOO dangerous. But, it didn't phase Marianna in the slightest. So, by the time she was 26, she disguised herself as a boy, and stowed away on board Cattez's ship after he was granted enough permission from the Spanish King to journey to this new world.
During the voyage, Cattez didn't realize that Marianna was a girl, and he made her do rough tasks while on board, especially sanitation duty. But, a few crew members took a liking to her, and they began to teach her the basics of hand-to-hand combat and weapons expertise, because they never know what awaits in the new world. Then, on New Year's Day, 1349, Cattez's crew were finally able to reach the shores of what is now Mexico, and Marianna was the first one to set foot on this new land. Little did she realize that she was in for a real surprise when she got there.
As Cattez and his crew were setting up camp, Marianna went into the jungle to search for food, but fell down a hill and injured her leg. Just then, a group of savage Mayan hunters sprang out, and surrounded her, hoping to finish her off. But, one of the hunters, Puppachiku, saw that she was greatly injured, and decided to bring her back to their city of Tenochtitlan, and brought her before their chieftain, Monkezuma II. During her recovery, Marianna saw how the Mayan people lived and even learned a bit of their language. After a few days, the crew members who befriended her eventually found Marianna, and told her the news that all Cattez wanted from this new world is gold, and would do ANYTHING to get it, even destroying this new world. Pup and the warriors wanted to fight him off, but Marianna convinced them the best thing to do was to trick him. So, she asked Monkezuma to make a map in their native language to a false city made of gold to confuse Cattez enough to drive himself to insanity. After he was relieved of duty by the Spanish king, Marianna became the new captain of Cattez's crew, and was marked as a Mayan warrior by Monkezuma and welcomed back anytime she wished. She then left with her new crew to explore the rest of Mexico, and learn that adventure discovering new worlds and cultures was the real treasure.
Marianna would eventually meet her descendent, Kitty Katswell and the rest of Team Katswell, came to Mayan Guatemala in 1349 to save her from Poison Archer, one of Jack Rabbit's minions. When they arrived, they checked her camp, and found little to no sign of her. That was until Dudley, using his keen sense of smell, found a trail that led right to a Mayan ceremonial podium, where Poison Archer was planning to sacrifice Marianna and her crew to the Mayan gods after he extracted her DNA from her to give to Jack. Luckily, Team Katswell was able to jump in, and rescue them, putting an end to this ritual. When they returned to her camp, Marianna was in shock in learn that Kitty looked just like her, and was amazed at how much progress was made in the future. After a bit of investigating around the Mayan settlement that Poison Archer took over, the Team learned that under Jack's orders, Archer was posing as their new warrior priest, and was using it as a cover for him to loot their temples, and steal their authentic Mayan gold. So, they devised a plan to uncover the truth to the Mayans, and after his cover was blown, Stan chased Archer into the jungle, and the two fought it out with each other. Upon Archer's defeat, Kitty and the others returned to the present, leaving Marianna to look forward to what she can do to shape the new world for future generations.
Personality & Traits:
Marianna is very adventurous and curious about the world around her. She never wanted to do anything that any of the other girls in her neighborhood, and thought she could make a difference despite her gender. During her adventure to the new world, she never backs down from a potential challenge, and won't stop until she accomplishes her goal. So, Marianna is curious about the world, but she's very determined to not let anyone or anything get in her way.
On board Cattez's ship, the crew members who taught her how to survive in the new world were the closest thing she had to family while on her journey. They would share their meals with her in the mess hall, and they even gave her a more comfortable hammock for her to sleep in. On the contrary, Cattez never really cared for her, along with her father when he worked for him, because he thought their philosophy on learning new cultures was the true treasure was a waste, and she thought his greed was turning him into a monster.
When the Mayans brought her back to their city, Marianna has gained much respect from them, and in return, she offered to teach them about her customs. However, when she first met them, she was more afraid that they might eat her if she wasn't careful. But, after tricking Cattez into finding that false golden city, Marianna became a well-trusted member of the Mayan society, and continued to venture through Central America learn more about the wonders of the new world.
Well, that's Marianna's update for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
