My first assignment in the Air Force was Loring AFB in Maine. Wind chill could get down to forty below. No calling in sick with nuclear armed bombers on the flight line.
Solution? I volunteered for Vietnam. I got rocket attacks. I got second-degree sunburn. But I didn't freeze to death!
