Bio:
Mary was born in Petropolis, California to a pair of environmentalists with a passion for the Earth's flora. They would often take her with them to any of their research trips, and they quickly discovered that she had a fondness for plants as well. Throughout her childhood, Mary would help out in the garden tending to her family's flowers, and as she grew older, she decided to become an agriculturalist like her parents. So, she attended TUFF Academy, and signed up for their special program that has the agency cover them for the career of their choosing.
During her time at TUFF Academy, Mary attended a special agricultural class that taught her that if more furries were closer to plants than they were at the time, the better chance the Earth would have for the future of the ecosystem. So, with that knowledge, she started an Environmental Club at the Academy, and it was a big hit, with over 50 members signing up to do their part. After graduating from TUFF Academy with a degree in agriculture, Mary moved back to Petropolis, and decided to spread the word about environmental awareness by opening up a flower shop in Downtown Petropolis which she called "Purrr-ty Flowers."
Despite some protests from the resident criminal entrepreneur Ripclaw, the shop was a hit like her Environmental Club, being a fast seller of freshly grown flowers and plants in the technology-induced city. She even became close friends with future Team Katswell member John Shepherd, who would often run down to the shop to buy flowers for his mother during his weekly errand runs. But, she also spends her time exploring the world outside of Petropolis to look for new plant species, and to help spread the word about the environment, and what furry-kind can do to help make it better for future generations.
She didn't officially get wrapped up in Team Katswell's missions when Nazura, a tiger capable of manipulating plantlife, launched a full-scale assault on Petropolis with intend to turn it into a jungle infested nightmare as punishment for their "disrespectful handling of nature." When Kitty and the others were called in to deal with the threat, they were no match for her deadly plants. But, thankfully, John's connection with Mary was able to help them out with Nazura. Mary recognized the plants that Nazura controlled because she remembered seeing them when she was with her parents on a research trip to Nazura's part of Africa, and told the team that the plants can be weakened by de-hydration. So, the Team took her advice, and started removing the water from Nazura's plants, making her unable to control them. After Kitty defeated Nazura, and Nazura was taken to the Petropolis Institution for the Mentally Coo-Coo, the Team thanked Mary for her help, and was given high honors as well for it was HER knowledge of plants that saved the city. Afterwards, Mary continued running her flower shop, but will always think about her accomplishment in helping Team Katswell deal with a powerful foe.
Personality & Traits:
Mary is basically an archetype Earth child. She's very close to the Earth, and would do what it takes to preserve it's natural wonders. But, unlike most environmentalists, who tend to go way to far, Mary knows her limits, and knows that the Earth belongs to furry-kind as well as nature, and tries to find a middle ground between both natural and man-made wonders for future generations.
Although she tends to her flowers and plants as if they were her own children, Mary has developed some close relationships with other people as well, especially with John Shepherd and Fiona Foxborne. With John, he's basically a regular at her flower shop, and she basically knows what he wants. Fiona works for her at her flower shop, and she acts like a big sister to her more than an employer to her, making her a friendly feline in the Petropolis downtown area.
Despite being a cat, Mary is actually a vegetarian, preferring salad over mice any day of the week. But, even though she's usually a calm, forgiving person, one thing she can't stand to see is ignorant corrupt business people who disregard nature as an obstacle for their "progress." She hates the fact that they only care about money, and thinks they're blind to the true wonders of nature. But, Mary is still a calm, forgiving person, and focuses on preserving nature for everyone on the Earth.
Well, that's Mary the Flower Cat's interpretation for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
