KH Christmas (Keyblade Graveyard) Me and My Other Selves
OK...here we are...now THIS is the world...where things culminate into a bundle of reveals, revivals, face-offs, and possible foreshadowing. If your a fan of KH original story, then this is the world you've been waiting for...........I mean, almost literally. They jam pack practically everything aside from, like, two other people into this ONE world.
Lot of boss fights in this one though...and a bunch of them are group bosses too! While it wasn't too hard, given that you got some help from a variety of characters, it was cool to see how everyone else gets into the battle, specifically two characters we've yet to see in a fight!
You mean the two who basically show up in ONE fight? Honestly, people had been waiting for ONE of those people to be playable for once, but nope...they shoved it into the DLC. And they spoiled the return of another character that people wanted back, and instead of resolutions, we're getting even more questions...
Granted, a problem with what happens in the Graveyard is due to plot reasons. For...whatever the reason is...there's suppose to be a clash of 13 Darknesses and 7 Lights that brings out the true Keyblade and Kingdom Hearts...which means a full on mini-war between the groups in this world. BUT, the problem is, that means that you're shoving SO many confrontations and conclusions side-by-side, that they kind of feel...hollow...
Now that you mention it...wonder why the tag-team fights go on pause when you defeat one person...
So they can have their meaningful monologue. I mean, the fights are cool, and it is epic to see these fights play out...but if your honest with yourself, having them come right after the other, with a 'bout time face off, who-is-better, a returning hero, and a clash with the final bosses of KH games past, it just becomes a little too much.
KH2 gave each Organization member a showdown in different worlds, showcasing them and their powers on a personal level. Here, though, they're piled together in little groups to essentially get their butts whooped because that's what the plot, literally, Xehanort's plot, demands.
Yeah, that was kinda of confusing...I mean, what we've done in the previous KH games was part of the plan...and now...the fighting is part of it too. Wow, talk about a Xanatos Gambit...
Nice one. But yeah...I won't deny the events at the Graveyard could be epic (especially for the unspoiled). Facing all three Kingdom Hearts main-series bosses at once was pretty cool, and seeing some characters fight for the first time, and working together with them, was awesome.
But it's packing way too much into one world that just makes it all forced just to please people with epicness.
If you never played Union, you probably won't feel as epic to see something happen against an orb of darkness boss, though you'd still feel things were epic. You probably would love the return of a certain character to fight for his friends...if you never saw the trailer that outright spoiled it. You probably will get what Vanitas says on his way out the door when you beat him...only to shake your head when you realize in a later Union update that there's more to it than you thought.
Of course, another wrinkle is adding in yet ANOTHER moment of time-travel. Yep...that's in there, and it's gonna confuse you for sure. If you get here in the game and find a cut scene repeating itself...don't panic, you're fine...
Oh yeah, that DID throw me for a loop!
Suffice to say, everything that Nomura wanted to happen in the original release of KH, I think, happened in this. Planted seeds that, at the time, make little sense, but he'll eventually use for future projects. All the clashes of protagonists and antagonists and the events that unfold were done to please fans, even at the minimal.
Honestly, it could have been cooler...but the plot demanded things happen this way, so it kind of screwed itself over do to that. Is it still enjoyable? Sure. Could it have been handled better? Yes, but you would need to retcon a whole bit of what Xehanort was doing which would take a lot of work and ruin some other good things....or you could throw time travel in again.
I never really got WHY he was trying to make more versions of himself...I mean I guess if there's a job that needs doing best to...ya know.
I know...people freaked out when somebody was 'Norted...brief as that was. Imagine dealing with seven versions of the same person....like you.
Oh that wouldn't be so bad!
Eh, might prefer seven versions of me...
That'd be a lot of diapers to ch---oops.
