This is a theoretical counter to a rear bear hug that is safer then the most standard Tea Kwon Do.

Please ignore how rushed the sketches are.
1.) Grab is initiated.
2.) Step into a modified horse stance to the right with your right foot one shoulder width forward. This pulls you away from your attacker's center of gravity making it harder for them to lift you; it also stabilizes your footing in case the attacker tries to press forward. Trap the attacker's hands as you step, digging your finger tips into the meat of their palms, taking hold like you would a sandwich. This prevents their hands from getting at your face during the move, and it prepares you to torque the attackers hands in a later step.
