Animus Totem: The Animus Totem is the strange golden orb that Max found in the cavern. It is an extremely powerful and magical artifact crafted by Anansi the trickster god that grants the user the power of the entire animal kingdom. It only chooses those who are pure and noble at heart, therefore it can never be used for evil purposes. (Inspired by the Animus Stone in Ani-Max of Liquid Comics and Vixen's Tantu Totem from DC Comics)

Shapeshifting: Being a Wild Guardian and receiving the Animus Totem, Max is able to shapeshift into any creature from the smallest of insects to the largest of creatures and as a result, he is able to harness the animals' powers and abilities. He can even transform into mythical creatures. So far, his transformations are a white Bengal tiger, a Canadian timber wolf, a black panther, a bald eagle, a monkey, a ram, an African elephant, a cheetah, a bison, a black rhino, a polar bear, an African lion, a great horned owl, an otter, a vampire bat, a Kodiak bear, a spotted hyena, a wild boar, a gorilla, a raven, a king cobra, a saltwater crocodile, a wild horse, a red fox, a hare, a grey squirrel, a mouse, a spider, a scorpion, a sperm whale, a great white shark, a bottlenose dolphin, an octopus, a blue phoenix and a golden Eastern dragon.

Animal spirit empowerment: Max is able to harness the spiritual energy of the entire animal kingdom when in combat.

Zoolingulism: Max is also able to understand and speak the languages of nearly the entire animal kingdom.

Animal empathy: Due to his power, Max is able to make friends with pratically any animal even the fiercest ones.

Peak animalistic abilities: Due to his shapeshifting power, Max developed many abilities allowing him to perform many feats that most humans would find impossible. He is extremely aglie, being able to swing through trees with ease and is incredibly strong, capable of lifting vehicles and 10 full-grown men. He is incredibly fast too, able to outrun even Harold who is the fastest runner in the school. His reflexes are so greatly honed that he can even grab a striking viper with ease.

Peak animalistic instincts: Being raised in the Congo, Max's senses have been enhanced greatly. He has incredible vision like a bird of prey, excellent hearing that catches the softest sound and an extremely strong sense of smell that allows him to track prey like a wolf. His instincts are so strong that he is able to sense aura of other living things and see through illusions

Peak psychology: Due to his power, Max is able to survive in any natural environment with extreme temperatures, from searing heat to sub-zero freezing cold.

Expert-hand-to-hand combat and Martial artist: Due to his upbringing in the jungle, Max is an exceptional fighter capable of defeating the fiercest predators and the largest beasts. This makes him way stronger than many of the students in Weston High.

Expert melee figher: Max is skilled in using weapons such as his hunting knife and ivory spear.

Expert archer and marksman: Max is well versed with the bow and arrows. He also has high levels of precision and accuracy, making him rarely miss his target.

Expert hunter and tracker: Max is also one of the greatest hunters, capable of bringing down the strongest of animals.

Expert forager: Max is also able to find food such as fruits, roots, edible fungi in any natural enviroment.

Great leadership: Max has also shown to have a strong leadership with his friends, giving out wise desicions to his friends

Great zoological knowledge: Being the son of two famous wildlife explorers and zoologists, Max knows a lot about birds and animals. He also knows some medicinal plants that cure illnesses.

Great Occult knowledge: After receiving the Animus totem, Max started studying all about supernatural and fantasy archives. Thus, he is able to grasp the power of mysticism.

Willpower:Max also has a nearly indomitable force of will, which allows him to push through any trials and hardships he faced.
