Most of the time yes, if there's a rapist character in a story, they are a villain or are seen as villainous, even if they aren't the big bad evil focus of the story.

At the same time, villain can refer to the primary antagonist of the story. Which remains the dragon who goes around killing people and destroying cities and kingdoms.

I haven't commented on this much if at all, but hot damn those last 3 panels have so much power behind them.

The change of art style in the dragon's head, in particular the teeth (but also eyes) is doing wonders to distort how we view them.

I'm not so much rooting for the hero or for the dragon so much as munching on popcorn wondering what'll happen next regardless.

Some people really seem to take issue with the fact the Kobold does want to physically force sexual intercourse on the dragon.

Which, uhm, this is a fantasy comic that started out with it as a joke that people seem to have taken a bit too seriously after a while.

If this were a normal rape themed hentai comic you wouldn't see as much of this which is what confuses me further.

The problem is that the 'joke point' of Braver setting out to fuck the dragon was taken too far for too long and turned what should have been the 'hero' of the comic into a character that's far more dislikable than the dragon and the dragon into a far more sympathetic character.

The dragon didn't have a chance to fight back, Braver always had the perfect counter to it's moves and he shot down all the reasons it gave for attacking those kingdoms (the dragon's backstory was that the rich kingdoms actually made it become a villain by trying to eliminate it to stop a prophecy from being fulfilled) as outright lies before finally revealing that he was essentially just a stalker finally getting around to the rape part of their stalking.

By making the dragon so powerless against our stalker-knight the 'villain' actually became more likeable, because while it may have attacked and destroyed kingdoms (which has no impact on us because we don't even know of or care about these kingdoms) it hasn't managed to do anything against the overpowered sex pest for the entirety of this comic whilst also getting more character depth and development to it through the backstory. That's why people are cheering for the dragon here, they're actually rooting for the underdog of the comic to FINALLY hit back after over 40 pages of him beating her down and belittling her.

Honestly at this point I don't think the character of Braver can be salvaged. There's no redeeming qualities to him after so much of this comic painting him as an overpowered sex pest, he will never be the hero for the readers and if people are viewing him as a 'hero'... Honestly that kinda perturbs me when you actually analyze his character. If Vavacung decides to bring this experimental comic to an end with Braver dying and the dragon winning, I dare say that it would be a move that many who have viewed it would appreciate.

I at least don't particularly remember anything about Dragon mating habits, but then again, this has been going on for a bit and its kind of hard for me to even remember at what point this went from beating the dead horse of a joke into the ground and when it became more serious.

Yeah, we're commenting on the FA version of this comic, not the premium variant that'll cost us $20 to view. I've already been heavily burned by the Patreon paywall for certain comics (Jagon's dragon rider comic being the foremost) and I'm not about to drop a whopping twenty bucks just to see if I missed some of the story elements. From what we can see on FA there's no talk of dragon mating habits at all and all that I said is still the truth, so unless you want to post that locked content, don't bring it up, it has no bearing here.

I brought it up because if there's no mention of dragon mating habits here, then they are irrelevant as for all we know dragon mating habits in this setting could be any kind of thing. I don't have access to the patreon comic either, so I assumed that the poster in question was bringing up mention of dragon mating habits.

It's a matter of framing/tone for me.

The kobold acting all self-righteous about their goal of raping the dragon is a turn-off. No self-awareness.

There are ways to play out this scenario where the dragon getting fucked is "fun" or plays well into a noncon fantasy... this comic isn't one of them.

My friend, there is a HUGE difference between saying you want to see a fictional character you dislike die and saying you want an actual person you don't like the opinions of die.

I am for Disaster Dragon. Braver do not represent the kind of kobold that i like, the truly heroic ones that are brave enought to fight the loyal way and not the underhanded way fighters/dirty trick user, even if it mean going into a fight that is lost in advance.

Like a villian i played in a super hero campaign campaign, where i died after breaking the last super hero after he took beating an other evil too far:
"I knew i would not be unable to kill you, so i did the next best thing... i killed the faith the city had in you. No matter how super you are, to this city, you are a hero no more."

Kobold tactic is mostly strength in number, but that do not stop them to have heroic loners or evil geniuses.

I was just saying that the type of kobold like Braver (evil heroes) is not really my cup of tea, that all. And for that reason, i am siding for Disaster Dragon.

I'm just enjoying the entire comment section for this comic. People are literally split on who to support. While I'm here eating popcorn and wonder what's going to happen next.

Regardless of what happens next, people are going to be divided on it.

That's mostly my viewpoint at this rate. I don't favor the dragon or the kobold, but now half my interest is more focused on how people will respond to how things go more than anything else.

I would be smarter then that dragon. I would kill that koboald first, and then gloat. If someone threatens me, i will kill them. I wont take any chance cause once they comment that tells me they are prepaird to go through with it, i wont take any chances.

I honestly think I would leave the kingdom asking him to do it out of the picture, in the end he accepted this, however instead of going at it to kill them right out he looked for every way to stop the dragon, why else would they try to learn all about their past, to search for any reason not to kill, his own father was one to bring races together, even the method of gathering materials to make sure he could complete his task, if only he could take a step back and not threaten the dragon with sex maybe all he has to do is teach the dragon without killing it, if he can fight and survive at her side and teach her empathy and a new reason to live maybe that would be worth it, not as a conqueror but as a fellow orphan he was adopted by a knight and in turn the dragon lost her family, surely if he could prepare to fight the dragon one on one while it took an army to beat her family surely he can now create the ideal for her to live without need for killing or ruin, as now he is the greatest challenge for her, as she has always seen to want a worthy battle, let him be her challenge and let him be her mentor.
