Cool the braver is dead... or are they?
It will be intrigued to see where the comic goes.
Shall they use the dragon to burn everything in this universe to wrap things up in an anticlimatic end or will they create a character worth rooting for to vanquish the dragon?
Would like to see more RPG hijinks.

Well, that answers that question, and unsurprisingly the dragon also goes forth to continue destroying all in its path.
I do wonder how this will end though. I have the strangest feeling there are more surprises in store.
alternatively, maybe the comments section will wind up affecting the dragon now that they're back to just being an evil scourge upon the land.

I remember look half-lit that basically said if you see someone that and you find that you believe them to be desirable like you want to ask them out or something like that then you've committed adultery with them in your heart. That sort of thing never made sense to me
Look, I was on Braver's side right up until he started getting really creepy about it in entry XXXV. Before that it was funny, and I was hoping to see this "lay the dragon' situation resolve. Hopefully the new bard will turn on the charm and go with the bolded text and choose flirt over fight.
I'm not surprised this is where the story went. Since the comment section seemed to be taking this so freaking seriously on either side. I will say I liked the dynamic of "hey, yeah the hero really isn't that great a person cause stalker and rapist, but if they loose then the world is fucked. So what is worse a rapist saving the world or the world getting ravaged." But since the comments apparently just wanted to be super serious about it looks like that isn't the story we are getting.
That still feels like a lot of people just forgot or really didn't think about the fact that from the very start the idea was this kobold was gonna fuck this dragon instead of you know slay it based on orders like im pretty sure the dragon shows up like a few pages after and it goes on about that
For me, it was a matter of execution. I'd have been happy if the story had been a more straightforward "fights the dragon into submission and fucks it" take on the joke - but the preachy moralizing of Braver contrasted with his intentions meant the joke kinda fell apart. It stopped being a funny misunderstanding and became something weirder and much less enjoyable.
I think that's just the overall joke though of a the generic righteous knight hero going to save their kingdom by slaying a dragon except in the context of slay to being laying with it although whether it works as a joke or falls flat is subjective to the individual though. especially since it leans into more of the whole generic knight deal where they give speeches and stuff and how they prepped their lives to save their kingdom or whatever
This was a story that was cut short and ruin for the many, by the toxic voices of a small few individuals who decided to grief and scream at the artist because they didn't like how a character and the story as a whole was being written.
Yet another example of how the worst individuals will destroy something that everyone else liked, simple to stroke their own petty egos.
Congratulations, I hope you are happy with yourselves.

It's the artists work, they can do whatever they want with it, you can complain all you want, but it doesn't change that fact. I am quite amused by this outcome, myself, particularly because so many people got bent out of shape over it. Get over yourselves, as Veradaux said, it's just a comic.
I must admit, I didn't think Vavacung would go this route. Must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised! Also, to those saying that Twitter cancelled this comic etc... For one, Twitter is a toxic cesspit and somewhere I would really not like to be associated with. It's likewise full of porn and porn artists, some of which do far, FAR more egregious stuff than making one of the main characters of their comic a stalker with a rape fantasy.
Secondly we haven't cancelled anything, as far as I can tell the comic is still open and we may yet get another character to defeat the dragon, indeed they seem to be setting that up with this new bard perhaps. Until Vavacung comes out and says 'finished' then the comic is still alive and well.
All that we in the comments did was to point out what we saw to be flaws in the comic and gave our opinions on the characters within it. Many of us would've been perfectly fine with Braver laying the dragon as was originally stated, but as we've pointed out over the comic's duration, the whole 'overpowered stalker who can't be retaliated against' trope was overplayed and drawn out for far too long, turning Braver into a character that many of us disliked whilst also making the 'Disaster Dragon' become more sympathetic, as they never land as much as a hit on Braver and the dragon's actions are never really that damning to us, the reader, mainly because we aren't invested in the locations or characters it destroys due to a lack of world building in the comic.
We aren't calling for the cancellation of the comic, merely pointing out that a certain joke or trope in it has been drawn out far too long and has damaged one of the characters in it to the point of being potentially irrevocable.
Also, I'm aware that there may be more to the comic that changes people's views, but from what I understand of it those pages are currently locked behind a $20 Patreon wall so I sadly can only critique Vavacung's work based on what he's put out on here for free. This does actually confuse me as Vavacung themself states immediately above that line that the comic isn't under financial support. Why lock what was meant to be a free side project behind that paywall, especially if the content may be crucial to the perception of certain characters?
But anyway, I do think that certain people in the comments here need to calm down. The comic hasn't been objectively ruined or cancelled, it's simply going in a new direction. If the individual themselves feels that it's been ruined, my apologies and sympathies to them; I know where they're coming from as I've seen works I've loved and supported be subjectively spoiled by an artist's creative decisions as well, but ultimately the direction and plot of this work is down to Vavacung themself. This is simply a choice that they've made regarding their own work, and while it may have been influenced by the critique Vavacung received it's one which I do not think was forced in any way.
Keep at it Vavacung, I'm interested to see how the comic may go from here!

I think the people threatening actual harm and complaing about "twitter cancel mobs" are taking it too seriously, yeah.
It's a disagreement over some silly fiction. I can not like the way the comic's tone developed without calling people who did enjoy it monsters xD

I'm honestly impressed that vavacung went as far as this, but this is supremely unsatisfying because well......
Braver is dead, unless they're raised or brought back somehow there's no way for them to grow or realize the flaws in their plan, perhaps as the Dragon crushed them to death they understood. Braver for all that....yeah they were creepy and their plan was to rape the dragon into not killing people, but they were also facing an opponent who had no issue destroying entire kingdoms and massacring defenseless civilians.
I think the issue here is that, at least in western cultures we have done our best to sanitize killings, while we (rightly) don't do the same to rape and other heinous crimes. Ask yourself this, if Braver had just come in and killed the Dragon and moved on, saving entire kingdoms from ruin and scores of people from death, would you have called them a hero?
Murder is wrong too isn't it?

My issue, personally, was never the idea of the dragon getting raped - rape can be hot! This is just a story, after all.
My issue was that Braver was an unlikable protagonist because his moralizing and the drawn-out nature of his "battle" where he no-selled everything the dragon tried made him come off as preachy and sanctimonious, which in turn shifted the tone of the comic to something less enjoyable.

Are you asking if I'd be okay with Braver surviving and fucking the dragon?
It's vavacung's comic, so they can do whatever they like with it. I don't particularly like how Braver developed as a character, going from a bumbling-but-surprisingly-competent fool to a preachy, moralizing stalker.
My problem was never with the possibility of the dragon getting fucked, willingly or not - it was with Braver becoming annoying.

people say that this comic was ruined because of the backlash, i just wonder if this comic was an "artistic depiction" of the desenting opinion, the masses of bad feedback represented by the dragon while "braver" is the ones representing fans of this kinda stuff,
braver being the kind that takes any and everything as innuendo to get what they want
while the "disaster dragon" is the people that dont understand why people can be like this
and just like in this comic, words can do damage enough damage to take down peoples defences making them easier to "kill" and makes them "stronger" whenever they do and with that strenth they "terrorize" others kill ones that try to get through to them using strength or similar to the first...
i mean from the start of the comic both of these character have remained canonically genderless so they could be a sign that they can be anybody
though if that logic remains true and considering "coming soon" is still to the next page the dragon may find someone that can break them, possibly in the form of another like them that has the same insight as braver and can explain it in a way that braver could not (or even possibly BE braver re-incarnated as a dragon... who knows where this comic will go)

The comic is over for a great many of us because the 4th wall breaking in previous panels, which in turn lead to this one, show how toxic people can be and apparently affect the artist. Braver has no ability to "hear the voices of the masses" but the artist does. Braver being dead means any hopes and fan art that has been done up to this point is wasted.
The only path for this to be reconciled for those who are disenfranchised is for this to be a "flash ahead" comic before a "snap back" to Braver and DD being in the moment before death. A compelling commentary might be for both to have a realization of how sad, lonely and destructive their own paths are in their own respects. Maybe a change of heart for them both?
Otherwise DD has just shown her true colors and only a quick death is warranted now.

If Braver does somehow come back, I imagine that would be a rather comedic interaction between the two. Dragon exclaiming that they thought they killed him, Braver probably giving some rather weird explanation that somehow works, and that just fries the dragon's brain from just trying to process the improbability of it all. One example I think would be with supposed One Piece 'deaths'. Been binge watching that series and specifically the Alabasta and Skypiea arcs had moments where characters were put in situations they should, by all means, have died from. But they come back later down the line alive and well, with maybe some injuries. But besides that whole plot twist theory, this is kind of a 'lesser of two evils' dynamic between Braver and the Kobold. While both of them aren't at all innocent by any means, one has done much worse things than the other. You can't really excuse mass genocide that was born from a tragic background. While the background does garner some pity for them, that doesn't mean they can just be excused of their crimes. Take that as you will; I don't think either are innocent, but the dragon less so.
Wonder if the Kobold wanted to be swallowed whole, but has a Warp Stone ready.
For the look of 1 page back (4th panel on the right), look like the Kobold is gonna get eaten. Or vore'd as others call it.
Edit: Braver seems to be prepared before going after the Dragon of Disaster. Lol.
I Like the both of them and their interactions lol.
