(Chester and Geoff)
The three days that followed were more of the same. Geoff and Chester worked at their respective jobs, and nothing much happened. There some differences now, though. Difference one, Lola was somehow more flirty than before! Whenever Geoff came to see her, she would try her darndest to get Geoff to go on a date w/ her as well as get his affection. Unfortunately for her, though, Geoff kept on rejecting these advances. He would turn her down as he knew she wanted him, but he still wasn't interested. As a result, Lola was very frustrated, while Chester couldn't help but find this entertaining. As for home life, Geoff and Chester were now a bit closer. Geoff felt a bit more comfortable being w/ Chester, who, in turn, liked to be close to Geoff to the point of their torsos touching. As for Geoff's condition, the black dots in his hair had elongated a bit and became more prominent. As for his eyes, the black in them had increased a little. Geoff hated being like this, but, unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to see the doctor for another couple of days. Aside from all that, the rest of the main week went well (though Geoff and Chester still had pains when apart from each other). Unfortunately, though, Saturday was back to the now-usual schtick...
...
(Chester and Geoff)
Like before, Chester sensed that his mother was near another strong SOUL. He quickly got out from under the bed and shook Geoff.
"Geoff, wake up!" Chester said as he shook his sleeping friend.
At first, Geoff didn't respond. After a bit, though, Geoff stirred.
"*groan**grumble*... What is it, ya big lug...?" Geoff said quietly while slowly rising.
Somewhere in Ride City, unbeknownst to the companions, Andrew had a sort of conniption.
"My mom is at it again," Chester said seriously.
Geoff groaned and rubbed his eyes.
"Again? Really?" Geoff asked, not exactly thrilled.
Chester nodded vigorously while Thread mirrored the action. Geoff sighed.
"Ugh. Ok, let's get ready..."
For the next while, Geoff freshened up. After a breakfast of some waffles, Chester became Geoff's hoodie as usual. Quickly, Geoff ran out of the house. After another bit, Geoff made it to the construction zone's entrance. Patrick was standing there, waiting for them. He waved.
"Heya :)!" Patrick said jovially.
"Pat, we need to teleport again," Geoff said bluntly.
Patrick got a confused look.
"Again?" Patrick asked.
Geoff nodded. Patrick sighed and put his hands out.
"Ok. Remember, concentration is key to get us to your destination. Got it?" Patrick advised.
Chester made a sound of affirmation and then made sounds of concentration. After that, Geoff grabbed the right hand while Chester materialized his arm to take Patrick's left hand, while still concentrating. Patrick took a deep breath, slowly twitched his tail, and the three disappeared. After another tight light speed tunnel (somehow, it was worse than the first), the three were on the other side. After getting their bearings, Geoff and Chester noticed that they were now in a pretty wet-looking forest. Suddenly, Patrick made a shuddering sound.
"Call me when you're done," Patrick said uncomfortably.
When the companions turned, Patrick was already gone. Geoff sighed.
"Ready to go :3?" Chester asked.
"Nope."
"Sorry, but too bad :T," Chester replied bluntly.
Geoff, sighing again, rushed forward. He ended up going past a very surprised woman wearing a safariesque outfit.
MISSION START!
(Song: Tropical Jungle The Jungle from Sonic 06)
The stage itself was rather interesting. Throughout it, Geoff had to use the terrain to progress. In some areas, some pits needed to be crossed by walking carefully on fallen logs. In others, Geoff used Chester's regular and cyan weapons to swing on branches across much larger pits while enemies were there as well. As for vertical traversal, Geoff had to use big, weird flowers to launch upward and Chester also had to use his claws on trees to climb up. As for the enemies, they were the strangest ones yet! Unlike w/ the previous ones, these weren't based on a SOUL trait. They were monstrous plants and they wielded green weapons. The bigger ones used apron-like weapons to daze and throw the companions. As for the smaller ones, they, strangely, had green frying pans. Despite the silly appearance, those things packed quite a punch! Eventually, though, after fumbling around the rainforest, Geoff and Chester reached their goal and realized they were too late. A plant-like monster lay sprawled on the ground w/ a green wisp-like thing above it. Lilith stood w/ her back turned above it, a dark green SOUL above her hand. Finally, there was a girly-looking figure struggling within some dark flames. Immediately, a bladed chain flew from Hoodie-Chester and shot towards Lilith! Unfortunately, she dodged and quickly flew off, much to Chester's clear-cut chagrin. After Lilith was gone, though, the green wisp thing flew towards the companions. Once it flew into them, everything went black. After a bit of indiscernible imagery, Geoff and Chester came back to reality. Immediately, though, Geoff had to dodge as a mechanical arm flew toward him! Shocked, Geoff and Chester saw a ghostly girl. She was full white, had a lab coat and glasses, and long, fluffy-looking hair. Her face was completely stoic. Geoff recognized that this was a Freelancer, but he couldn't remember her name. At any rate, Geoff pulled out his new weapon, a green frying pan.
"Fucking seriously?" Geoff asked, unamused.
"WOO!" Chester shouted while waving his green apron.
Geoff sighed while dodging another mechanical arm.
FIGHT START!
(Song: EnCORE by Bees? from the Undertale Cereb fangame)
Compared to the stage the proceeded it, the fight itself was surprisingly pretty easy. The ghost's only weapons were her floating, mechanical arms. Unfortunately for her, they couldn't be swung that fast. While the ghost moved quickly, and while Chester couldn't touch her w/ his body or limbs, the arms weren't that fast and she took a lot of damage from the weapons! Eventually, though, the ghost was at 1% and she fell! As for Geoff and Chester, they were literally just at 89%.
VICTORY!
After a bit, the ghost stirred, and Geoff pointed both his and Chester's weapons at the ghost girl.
"Are you good now?" Geoff asked cautiously.
The girl gave him a "Really?" look.
"Of course, I am," the girl said nasally, "What happened?"
"You attacked us," Chester said.
"Hm, ironic. I got possessed despite being a ghost," the ghost said.
She then noticed Chester's top half and her eyebrows went up.
"By any chance, do you have any sort of relation to a monster named Drake, or, at the very least, know him?"
Chester gave a slightly annoyed look.
"No. I keep hearing that I look like him, but I've never met this Drake person before."
"Hm..." The girl mused.
"Um, what's your name?" Geoff asked, "I know you're a Freelancer, but I can't remember your name."
The girl sighed.
"Story of my life. My name is Vicky."
"Huh."
Vicky then pulled up her sleeve to reveal a wristwatch. She pressed a button on it.
"Cherry?"
"Yes, bitch?" A Spanish-sounding voice asked.
"Come over, I need a pickup."
Geoff turned his head to Chester.
"Let's go."
Chester nodded and melted back into the hoodie. Geoff then quickly went back the way he came. After a long trek back through the forest, which was thankfully much more chill than before, Geoff and Chester were finally back at their starting point. Geoff pulled out his flip phone and dialed Patrick's number.
"Hey, Pat? We're done here," Geoff said.
After a bit, Patrick appeared and put his hands out. Groaning, the companions grabbed them. After he slowly twitched his tail, Patrick transported the three of them back to Silph City.
