I was coming up with alien ideas, and this one is like... what if a species was SUPER good at vocal mimicry and color changing, making it the ideal diplomat because it can speak all/most languages? They can control all the individual bristles of hair, rubbing them together like crickets to produce tones, their rib-gill-things act like bellows, and their "wings" (which they can't fly with and are only for communication and intimidation) and fur can change colors (either through refraction or pigment change, who knows)
I'm thinking of making them an OC, and naming this one... Chroma or Cotton Candy :U (their name is unpronouncable by humans so their companions in the typical alien buddy cop story name them)
