You must get into the zaniest D&D games. I couldn't get into tabletop much due to how clunky a medium it often feels for doing the kind of shared storytelling I enjoy, but maybe I should give it another look if ideas like this are springing from it.

a lot of it comes down to finding the right group for you, its easy to end up with people you don't quite mesh with

This looks like one of those robo-tank action figures that we couldn't afford when I was a kid, but my rich friend had laying about on the floor in his playroom
I love it.
But consider: Some way to enchant it to be able to cast a cone of flame. Or a Boz-Beam-Lazer.
