(Chester and Geoff)
After the weekend was over, there was one more day of relative normalcy. It was Monday and the companions were back to work. As usual, Geoff worked his paperboy job, and Chester worked as a car repairman. Nothing new happened that day. As usual, Geoff and Chester felt horrible when apart but they still did their jobs. As for Lola, she did what she'd been doing for a long time. She kept on flirting w/ Geoff, while the latter kept on rejecting, which Chester found amusing, though the charm was starting to fade. As for Patrick, he was simply a hang-out buddy, as usual. Overall, it was a run-of-the-mill day. The next day, though, things were sadly back to business...
...
(Chester and Geoff)
Like the last three times, Chester sensed his mom near a strong SOUL again while scratching another tally mark on the wall. Quickly, Chester shook Geoff gently.
"Geoff, Geoff!" Chester said.
Geoff grumbled as he got up.
"Ugh, let me guess. She's back?" Geoff asked as he slowly got up.
Chester vigorously nodded. Geoff sighed and got out of bed.
"*sigh* Alright, let's get ready..."
After Geoff freshened up and he and Chester had a sandwich breakfast, the companions left as fast as they could after Chester turned into a hoodie again. After a bit, they got to the construction zone. (Speaking of which, the skyscraper they were building was about three-quarters of the way done). When Patrick saw the two, he waved and smiled, but his expression became not-so-happy once he saw Geoff's face.
"Let me guess, you need to teleport again?" Patrick asked.
Geoff nodded. Patrick groaned, but he held his hands out. After the companions took the hand while Chester made concentration sounds, Patrick slowly twitched his tail and the three disappeared. After yet another tight light speed tunnel, the three reappeared in a strange place. After the companions got their bearings (luckily, they were getting more used to it), they each had to do a double-take. Chunks of ground were floating in different places and the area was very windy! As for what the three stood on, it was a large chunk of floating land! Patrick shivered.
"Call me when your d-done!"
He then slowly twitched his tail again and left. Geoff sighed but quickly dashed forward. The startled person that he dashed past this time was a normal human guy.
MISSION START!
(Song: In The Wind from Megaman ZX Advent (ZXA Tunes ver.))
The stage itself was a pretty interesting one. Geoff had to dash jump to narrowly jump onto different floating platforms, both above and below him. Some platforms were unreachable by just dash jumping, and, Geoff would instead have to use the bladed chain to grapple onto some bits of solid ground, or he had to use swirling air currents. As for the enemies, they were simple windy creatures that had strange weapons. The smaller ones used purple notebooks that hit surprisingly hard, and the bigger ones had purple glasses that shot out purple blasts! Luckily, though, Chester's new apron weapon could stun and grab multiple enemies quickly, and it was very good against these weird opponents. Overall, the stage was pretty weird in terms of enemies and pretty treacherous in terms of terrain. Eventually, though, the companions finally reached their goal. Yet again, though, they were too late. There was no boss body, but there a purple wisp-like thing. There were also two people struggling in dark flames this time instead of one! (One was red and thin, while the other was pale and thicker). Finally, just as the companions got there, Lilith already had the dark purple SOUL and quickly left, much to Chester's clear frustration as Geoff did an annoyed finger snap. After Lilith was gone, though, the wisp-like thing flew towards Geoff and Chester like the others had. Just as before, it flowed into the companions and the world went dark. After yet another series of quick, messed-up images that couldn't be made out, Geoff and Chester came back to the real world, and not a moment too soon! Geoff had to quickly dodge out of the way as a white bomb and blue disc were thrown at him!
"WHOA!" Chester shouted.
"The hell?!" Geoff asked.
Looking forward, Geoff's eyes widened. There was a female red-haired demon w/ a "Bad Bitch" shirt and a clown-like marshmallow monster w/ her. Both were stoic and both held their respective weapons. Geoff realized that the demoness was the flamboyant Freelancer and Patrick's daughter, Cherry, and the marshmallow monster was Polychrome Benjamin, a combo between former Freelancers Benjamin and Pete! Geoff cringed because he knew that these two were much more formidable compared to the previous two Freelancers.
"Shiteballs, this is going to be difficult..." Geoff muttered.
Chester got his new weapon, a pair of purple glasses, ready at that.
"Eh, that hasn't stopped us before >:}!" Chester said boldly.
Geoff sighed and got his new weapon, a purple notebook, ready.
"True enough..."
FIGHT START!
(Song: Vs Klara from Pokemon SWSH)
As Geoff predicted, the fight ended being quite difficult. Both bosses went around the area very quickly. Cherry used her wings to zip around blindingly fast, throwing bombs all the while! As for Polychrome Ben, he used his PATIENCE-enhanced shoes to run around super fast while also kicking hard and throwing out a lot of blue discs! Even worse, these two worked together scarily well! As for Geoff and Chester, while they got potshots in, the fight ended up being very difficult! Despite that, though, Cherry and Polychrome Benjamin were finally brought down to 1%! (At the dire cost of 88% of Geoff and Chester's overall health, even w/ KINDNESS healing)!
VICTORY!
After that heated fight, the two Freelancers stirred. At this point, though, Geoff and Chester couldn't even lift their weapons. Chester wasn't even out of hoodie form.
"Please *huff* tell me you guys aren't *huff* fucking insane anymore..." Geoff said, before clamping his hand over his mouth.
His voice sounded closer to Chester's for a second. Cherry gave an annoyed look.
"What the fuck do you think, puta?" Cherry asked as she finally got up.
"What happened?" Polychrome Benjamin asked, rubbing his head.
"You were possessed and attacked us," Chester said bluntly.
Cherry's eyebrows went up and Polychrome Ben's eyes widened.
"Fuck..." they both said.
"Yeah, but we're used to it at this point," Geoff said while shrugging.
At that, Cherry held her hand out to her colleague, who took it.
"Wait!" Geoff said.
The Freelancers gave him a weird look.
"I know your dad, Patrick. He talks so nicely and about you, and it's nice to finally meet you," Geoff said.
Cherry's eyebrows went up again and she smiled.
"Well, tell his bitch ass I said hi," she said.
Her tail twitched and she left w/ her colleague. Geoff, smiling a little, turned back to the floating platforms and sighed before going back the way he came. After a while that was oddly much easier than before, Geoff made it back to the beginning of the stage. He then called Patrick.
"Hey, Pat? Yeah, we're done."
A few seconds later, Patrick appeared. Geoff and Chester tiredly grabbed his hands, Patrick twitched his tail, and the three vanished.
