This fine old house in my hometown is reputed to be haunted by the wife of a fishing captain who was lost at sea. It's said that she can sometimes be seen in one of the uppermost windows during a red-sky morning, looking out across the sea for a sign of her husband's ship.
I've never seen her up there myself, but I thought that the dramatic sky made for an elegantly haunting image.
