MALAKAS Project - Ryan McNeil
If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
Ryan McNeil was born in a reptilian tribe in state of New York. However, judging by his name, he was not exactly indigenous. Instead, he and his family were descended from a lone Irish immigrant. His nickname on the other hand was actually a birth-name made on a basis of tribal tradition, locally translated 'Daggertooth'. For generations, his tribe endured many decades of living under the shadow of an American majority, and barely had dozen separate years of receiving kind treatment.
Since 2008, his tribe began to suffer financial losses for them to survive, leaving up to the youth to get menial jobs to make up for it. Of course, they still suffered from discrimination. However, Ryan became an exception. Despite enduring years of bad treatment, his stoic stance shielded his confidence, allowing him to get the job done. And since 2016, he became a chief of his own tribe, for most of the adults and elders died in ambush by their rival tribe, who were in a much worse state.
Ryan's new tribe consisted of many young reptilians, mostly young adults. Several mothers and few elders joined him, after they either left survived the ambush or left their homeplace earlier. Although young and inexperienced, Ryan knew his leadership required experience and advice from the elders and his fellow reptilians needed local knowledge and education from the mothers. At the same time, he also realized the elders wouldn't live for another few years and the mothers weren't as strong as their late husbands. So he had to take much time as he needed in order to become a more competent chief.
In 2020, Ryan had lead his tribe on a slow but stable growth, although the very last elder had passed away on the very first day of that year. Unfortunately just in March, his years of peaceful rule would not last long, as the rival tribe (the one that killed his fellow adult tribesmen in 2016) had grown bigger and more aggressive, and both tribes were on a verge of tribal war. This would be become so noticeable that even those prejudiced against Native Americans grew worried, but instead of doing anything to prevent such war, a few of them would just kill off each tribesman of two tribes in a dark. Ryan may not be skilled in handling war strategy, his mother sure was. It was settled for war, but Ryan insisted that the two tribes needed a week-long headstart in preparations, in which they agreed.
Weary and worried about an imminent war, he bumped into a bigger soldier, who politely apologized and made space for Ryan. However, the same soldier named Erin Edwardson the Mouse noticed the way Ryan walked and asked him. After learning the situation Ryan was in, Erin suggested that Ryan join the MALAKAS Project in order to strenghten his tribe against their rival, but Ryan insisted that he had to watch over his tribe by himself.
Ryan returned to his tribal land few hours later, only to find it empty and his mother laid dead. Left speechless and horrified, he knelt in front of his late mother, unknowingly leaving himself vulnerable to his rival tribesmen armed with sniper rifles. Erin quickly swooped in and shielded Ryan from sniper bullets, suffering no injury nor pain. Ryan was brought to a military heavy hauler full of his tribe defending themselves with assault rifles, and Erin manned the truck and left the warzone. After Ryan's tribe was brought to an airport, Erin explained to them that their rival tribe was robbing numerous firearm stores and killing all tribes across the New York state. He also revealed himself to be a childhood friend of Ryan's parents. Shocked and infuriated by his rival tribe dominating New York at his own tribe's expense, Ryan asked to join the MALAKAS Project, in which Erin agreed and assured that Ryan and his several fellows would become Super Soldiers in few months, strong enough to take revenge on their rivals and retake their lost lands.
After having arrived to California, Ryan prepared for a substitute to lead in his absence, in form of his best friend. Accompanied by Erin, Ryan and his eight tribesmen traveled to the mountain base where they would train themselves. Ryan entered the office and presented himself to be stern and territorial, but his new instructor Timothy Soro simply asked for his background, which Ryan responded with a 1-hour-long speech about his tribe. However, Timothy could not endure listening to a speech that long without any incentive to keep him from yawning. This irritated Ryan enough to battle him with his spear but Timothy quickly deflected the spear away and pinned both Ryan's hands against the floor to restrain him. As Timothy attempted to apologize and calm him down, Ryan kicked the fox groin, which did not faze Timothy, but he continued to reassure Ryan that his tribe would return to its right place once Ryan trained to become a Super Soldier. Ryan then calmed down and agreed on his tribe's behalf.
For few months, Ryan and his eight fellows had been training with a moderate presense of Timothy on training grounds. On a daily basis, they often had private meetings to themselves, but they were also encouraged to comminucate with other recruits. In the end, the eight tribesmen became Super Soldiers, but Ryan had managed to earn a temporary Juggernaut, on their belief that Ryan should, as their chief, train to become such rank.
On the day he was honorably discharged, Ryan received news from Erin that his rival tribe had sent their veterans after his tribe in California, prompting him and his eight fellows to pack up and leave immediately, but not before informing Timothy what had happened. Erin joined Ryan on a defensive reparations held up in a motel where Ryan's tribe had been living in. In short, thanks to Ryan and his eight powerful fellows, their rival tribe's available veterans were killed but left no message, which would eventually concern their chief in a matter of a month.
Ryan was now more confident that his tribe had been strengthened thanks to the MALAKAS Project. He wished to return to New York state, but his entire tribe had been inspired by his decisive fighting and his muscular body that they demanded to join the project themselves to become as big as Ryan. So with Erin's help, the decision was made that every few months only ten recruits would go to the mountain base and then return afterwards so that another ten would do the same.
Back in the time he became a Super Soldier in the mountain base, Ryan had been listening to strangers recalling recent invasions on several towns from Brisa Creek. He didn't know much about it, but he became certain that he would willingly help others repeal Brisa Creek's influence as his payment in gratitude to strengthening his tribe. In present, Ryan concluded that by protecting California from Brisa Creek's persistent conquest, his tribe would receive much bigger support in taking back their rightful place in New York state. So he asked Erin to take him back to the mountain base by next week, so he could have a crucial talks with his new friend Timothy.
