She's Luna's adopted daughter. Her biological parents had the latent ability for green flames (that don't actually burn normal organic matter). Her biological parents having been slaughtered lead to Luna adopting Miralle, in part, hoping to help foster the latent talent into a useful ability that could help defend the world they live in.
I suddenly had an image appear in my mind of Chili's future, where she returns to her village all grown up. She meets her old teacher, who is currently trying to treat someone's neck pain with poutrices and potions, and she gets defensive at Chili's presence. She says something like, 'I couldn't teach you then, and I won't teach you now.' Without a word, Chili walks over to the patient and performs an adjustment on their neck, resetting the bones and ligaments. The patient cries after having their pain finally relieved after so long. Chili turns to her teacher and says, 'Perhaps it is you who needs a lesson.' And she walks away, finally having relieved a burden of her own.
I dunno.
I dunno.
