The next few days that followed were some pretty awkward and hectic ones. Now that Gester was one person instead of his two halves, he now had to deal w/ a whole bunch of awkwardness and quite a few issues. For starters, he ended getting fired from the paperboy job! When Gester's boss saw him in his office, he was initially frightened and very apprehensive towards the fusion. After a long while of explaining, the boss eventually understood, but he still fired the fusion.
"WAIT, WHAT? WHY?!" Gester asked.
"I'm sorry, but I can't have a monster representing my business," His boss said bluntly.
Gester fixed him w/ a look of angry disbelief.
"LE WHAT?" Gester asked, barely keeping his combined fury at bay.
"Look, I can't have a monster working for me. You know how poorly that would reflect on me?"
Gester was speechless as he gaped at this guy.
"Now, can you get out-?" The boss began.
He suddenly cut off as Gester lashed out at him w/ a tentacle! The man was slammed back into the wall! When he landed, Gester slowly went over to his crumbled form and checked for a pulse. Luckily, there was still one there. W/ a shadow over his eyes, Gester left that office for the last time, silently fuming. After that... experience, there was the matter of Patrick and Lola. For Patrick, he was kind of weirded out by this, but he wasn't too fazed as strange stuff happened a lot to his family as well as people associated (his offspring-in-law, Grey, and his future grandson-in-law, Drake were the most notable examples). As for Lola, while she was a lot more accepting than Gester's terrible boss, she was still not exactly thrilled about the change. Luckily, her growth as a person had stuck, so she simply had a look of unsureness from afar, though she didn't say anything. Also, thankfully, she very much let the fusion keep his job. Next up, there was food. This was something that actually didn't change much as Gester literally felt hungry for two people. Next up, Geoff's parents... While Gester was very hesitant to show them himself, he got the nerve to do it. To say it was a stressful evening would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. Initially, Geoff's parents were surprised at seeing Gester. When they asked what he wanted, Gester hesitated before explaining who he was. When he did, though, Geoff's parents got understandably hysterical. For Geoff's mom, she screamed accusations while his dad threatened Gester for lying and ordered him to leave! After a bit, Gester decided to put an end to this. He pulled out his corrupted combo SOUL. Upon seeing the grey part of the SOUL, Geoff's parents faltered. No one else besides people in their family had those SOULs... After that, Geoff's parents became more receptive. Gester explained what had happened ever since he met Chester. When he was done, Geoff's mom cried and a shadow passed over Geoff's dad's eyes. The parents then simply hugged their new son as Gester cringed a bit.
This isn't going to be awkward at all..., Gester thought. Yes, yes it will be...

Present-day: Gester was now sitting on the roof, watching the sunset. He thought about everything that had led up to this point. All the hardships, the tears, the pain, the revelations, and, most of all, the changes. At the same time, though, he thought of all the happiness, the comfort, the support, and, best of all, the love between Geoff and Chester. Gester didn't know what was to come, but, at the moment, he didn't really mind. He was happy as is, being the company of both of his halves. Gester wasn't sure if this next part was a hallucination or not, but it felt like the spirits of both Geoff and Chester were hugging him from both sides, all three staring at the last rays of sunlight wistfully.
