Jak the Wuffle and I share a moment at AC2010.Jak is an amazing story and one that typifies what I love about the fandom.
Going full bore, Jak went for the gusto and commissioned his first fursuit
on faith alone. He re-arranged his schedule, juggled his finances, finagled
an amazing fursuit maker to complete him in record time, and then
picked up his new creation AT the convention. An untested suit debuts with a
novice suiter at the biggest furry convention going.
Dedication personified. Courage in spades. I dig it.
When we finaly were able to meet up, (sorry for my poor time management
skills, buddy) I was overjoyed to see him in person and admire this
amazing new critter. Damn, Jak, you rock that suit!
Mr. Wuffle saw what many do not: an opportunity to make a dream
come true.
Yes, it took effort. Yes, it was a leap of faith.
But it looks 100% worthwhile from where I sit.
Congratulations on your wonderful entry into the world of fursuiting, my
friend. I'm sure you will have a long an illustrious career.
And I still owe you that drink.

Yes, but i already have a computer, even if it is a desktop and i can't take it everywhere... So, for me, although a $1000 fursuit wasn't a "cheap" or what some might consider "sensible" use of funds, it will last me years and I will get boatloads of enjoyment out of it each time i wear it, even if those times are few and far between.
And yes, I AM Alpha Wolf... Out of a pack of one wolf. I was the runt of the litter, shhhh. :>

That seriously is sweet, I love when things come together, faith in the artist and goodwill from the commissioner = excellent suit and a good experience
and in case you didn't recognize me at AC (probably not, your were at the party in my room on sat) I LOVE YOUR SUIT IRL, it's so much cuter.

Thank you kibblz! Best slightly impulsive thing i've done... Okay, maybe not best... But at least this will last me for years, unlike the impulse to buy other things which don't bring nearly as much joy and don't last nearly as long... Unless of course that impulse happens to be asking out or marrying the girl of your dreams... Only that impulse could be better. ;)
Dogbomb, I dunno where to start...
Meeting you was very awesome, and the fact that we just happened to meet randomly in front of the Fursuit Lounge was nothing short of lucky. You were my inspiration to take this leap, and I am very glad that I listened to you and went through with everything, because it was worth it! I got to meet so many awesome furs, and take part in the largest Furry convention in the world for the first time as a new suiter.
And don't worry about managing your time, because you had 4,000 friends who wanted to meet up with you, whereas you were the only one I had to make an arrangement for. Next year, we'll have to pick a day and time and place to meet up, so has to avoid the back-and-forth texting to meet up. Like i said, it was lucky we met up when and where we did. :3
ArtSlave was awesome because she worked very closely with me, and put up with my barrage of questions and comments. She made my first suit in record time, and got the details down, like my awesome tail and fur. OH the fur! The fur is absolutely perfect, the right pile and shade of gray/black, giving me not only a very look i wanted, but the right coloring and softness. She got my fur coloring almost spot on too, all the way up to my muzzle and the tips of my ears & very tip of my tail...
As a first time suiter I will say that it was very tough. I spent more time taking visits to the fursuit lounge than I did walking around showing off. I even broke the "rule" of fursuiters and had to dehead myself a couple times in public to avoid exhaustion. Once was in the dealer's den near the water coolers, the other waiting in line for Uncle Kage's Story Hour. For the most part though, it was worth every ounce of sweat I poured out...
And it is the WUFFLE who owes the DOGBOMB a drink. I don't do alcohol, but I'll gladly buy you one. I suppose if you want to, you can buy me cheeseburger or something. :3
Thanks again for all the support, DB...
In retrospect, looking at this picture, I should have also have hugged ya too, not had my arms crossed. But you give big enough hugs for 3 canines :3

Hmm, would you be willing to walk to McDonalds in suit? Heh, with summer weather, i guess that actually isn't a good idea. Would probably sweltering by the time we get there, and i would have to dehead just to cool off. I would not want to do that in public, specially with kids around... Bathroom could work...
But I just would love to make a scene by just being there and ordering in suit... Have to get it to go though, cant eat a cheesburger with a head on... unless I get a small burger and cut it into bite size pieces and open my fursuit mouth... Hmmm... That could work. x3
I just always wanted to do this. x3

LIES! >:O
He lies, he's too modest or nice to admit I'm a short guy. :>. :P
I am only 5 feet tall, maybe 5'5" if you count the ears. Standing next to Dogbomb, he looks like a giant. But that's cause HE is close to normal size and I am the "special" size. I like to refer to myself as "Travel Size" because I am accepted at most airports as a carry on luggage and can fit easily into overhead storage bins. ;)

LOL I am nothing liek a Waffle. :P
I'm not covered in syrup, nor do i have little tiny squares engineered to hold individual ounces of syrup so that each bite maintains it's syrup, unlike a pancakes where the syrup runs off the pastry... I digress... :>
To be specific, a Wuffle... Well, it's not *A* wuffle, but *THE* Wuffle, me, Jak. I am a wolf, and it was a pet name given to me by my Raccoon friend from Second Life. I called him Coonfase, he called me Wufflefase one day, so naturally, I just be came Jak the Wuffle. :>
But YES, I am far cuter than a waffle. :D

I most certainly have enjoyed the last 8 years. I never did get that drink from you... I guess I'll have to meet up with you later, when its my time to go, to collect on that offer.
Love you dude. Rest Easy. And thanks for all the encouragement. I wouldn't be the wolf i am today without you...
