Time to switch from incandescent to compact fluorescents.
I have a few out, one on the front porch, one off the side egress point of the house, that have both been on 24/7 - close to three years come this august. The bases of both are a brown color from the heat, the bottom of the tubes of each seem to be discolored slightly, but they have kept on burning like mad.
Funny thing is, CF bulbs tend to be way more expensive (cheaper in the long run but still), but all the ones I am using now, i bought when a local grocer had pallets of them 4 to a pack, for 3 dollars. Over the course of 3 weeks, i would be in the store daily or at least every other day to get essentials, and i would see em, and get a few packs or two, or three.
Eventually, they sold out, but i can see by my stockpile and how often i have to replace one thruout the house, i have a lifetime supply already.
even ethereal boomers should know that this is the best option.
