My god I forgot to post it here, too

It was my February fanart in honor of Tales from the Borderlands getting back to the stores. No AU bullshit this time, just a pure game tribute
Gearbox posted it to their social media, too, and it was very pleasant to me %))

I have a thing for nerds xD But the real reason why it's still alive is because my bf and I are fooling around with the AU stuff, the dynamic clicked. Plus Vaughn's positive traits are similar to his, and they're both nerds with brown hair and a beard, so if I'm drawing something from the AU, I'm projecting it from our relationship. Especially now, when we can't see each other because of the pandemic.
Though I'm giving my honors to the pure game from time to time, too, Tales is awesome.
Yeah, I was disappointed by his behavior in the DLC because he seemed to forget every progress he ever made and got back to the coward/loser state he had in the very beginning. And he acted weird overall. Pretty sad, character development is important, and it was totally thrown away. The design was more or less fine though, at least you could recognize him.
Borderlands 3 didn't get better with him, it got way worse and the character didn't just roll back - he degraded to the level of a schizophreniac hobo who wears almost nothing but dirty whitey tighties. Supposed to be funny, but it wasn't, it felt like someone you knew lost his mind and forgot how to take a shower. Some of his traits were wiped off, some were exaggerated to the grotesque level, and in the end you got an unrecognizable character. And in this case it's the only positive side of it - he's unrecognizable both by looks and behavior, so it's easy to ignore him. Same with Rhys. These versions of them don't exist to me.

It's playable in the matter of gameplay (has a lot of great features), some quests were good, too, but in the end the old games were better. The story in Bl3 didn't make any sense, especially if you remember details from the previous games.
If you don't care much about story and characters - it's a good game. If you do, you're going to be disappointed.

That's actually the reason I don't want to play this game.
It's pretty much what you said about Vaughn but applied to the whole universe.
It's more and less at the same time, someone took over, understood the basic concept of the story but decided to throw away everything that made the characters what they are and caricature them to high ends.
I observed the beginning of that in BL2 of course but it was less present and BL2 was still an amazing game.
But yeah, from what I saw in videos, they did everyone dirty.
My boy Krieg probably got less of a shitty treatment but even his DLC is disappointing as fuck.

Different people were working on the scenario, not the ones that gave us previous games, and nobody from the TellTale, too - and we're witnessing the result of it. Same with the last BL2 DLC.
I completely understand how you feel and I'm sharing it. I played it right after it was released without knowing what I'm getting into - and I was really disappointed with the story and some of the characters %)) That's why I wouldn't recommend it unless you treat it like a "fanfic game" that is not really connected to the setting.
Haven't played Krieg DLC so I can't say anything about it, but there's a little hope that it could be fine. The Casino one was. Still not the same level as the previous games, but better than the main quest.

Well....from what I saw in video it's not AWFUL but I find it disapointing.
The idea of Krieg now struggling between his two parts and trying to find his past exists since he exists, and well...that is somehow well done.
But that DLC was supposed to answer the questions about him and, in the end, answers none.
We don't know anything more about him than when we started, it's justified in a "forget your past, be yourself now" kind of way and I just find it...eeeeeeeh, really lazy.
