If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
NOTE: Calfox is redesigned into a living fox here but carries the original fur markings to resemble his animatronic self.
Since one of the most popular horror games was released back in 2014, many (if not all people) had long been very familiar with its expanded series. And by that, people mistook Cal V. Furgeson for a white-and-pink animatronic. He came from a humble town of Sunflower Sprout in Nevada, where it contained a dozen fast food restaurants that contained actual animatronics. As popularity of the animatronic-themed video games series reached Sunflower Sprout, Cal's friends began comparing his appearance to that of a fictional character, but Cal himself had no knowledge of what they were talking about. Fearing the chance of people making fun of Cal, his parents moved themselves and him out to Redwood City in California.
In October 2020, Cal planned to get a pirate costume for trick-and-treating for Halloween, but after buying a cheap hand-wearable hook from a costume store, he noticed a few hunks coming out with costumes, which were too small to fit their big bodies. Despite being jerks, those hunks were honestly open to Cal. They bragged about benefits they reaped from the MALAKAS Project, which were enough to convince Cal to join the project.
After a few bouts of quarrels with his parents, who discouraged him from joining the MALAKAS Project, Cal decided to meet up with the same hunks behind the pizza joint for an arrangement for the project. The latter agreed to bring him there. And by that, they meant stuffing him into a crate packed with hay, food and water, and a couple of air holes to breathe.
A week later, the crate arrived at the mountain base via post office, where Cal was unveiled to a big and muscular wolf named Errol James (EJ) Spenser. Cal was brought to a mountain office, to be interrogated by both the supervisor Christopher North and EJ himself. Given Cal's interest in building muscles, Christopher was willing to let him in, but EJ expressed concern regarding how Cal came into the mountain base. By recruitment standards, shipping a volunteer in a crate to become a recruit for the project was considered illegal. Cal admitted he asked a few hunks to bring him to the mountain base with any means necessary, and was willing to make up for it, now he had arrived. Christopher agreed to start the investigation on Cal, and at the same time assigned him to train under EJ's supervision.
Meanwhile, Cal's parents began to notice that he was not around the house. Filled with panic and anxiety, they went on a city-wide search, with help of their friends and neighbors. They managed to reach out to the hunks who last met Cal at the pizza joint. One hunk was about to confirm Cal's parents' concerns, but his comrades immediately realized the situation and lied to Cal's parents that they had no knowledge about their son's whereabouts. Not knowing what else they could do, Cal's parents left the hunks alone, for now.
Cal, on the other hand, didn't start training until October 31st, the day of Halloween where participants go in costumes and collect candies. He was so eccentric for Halloween, that he brought the hook, a pirate hat, his grandfather's coat, and a plastic pumpkin out from his backpack for the night after workout. Having a knack for sweets, he could be at risk for diabetes, something that EJ took notice. In fact, Cal often ate candies before and after workout, prompting EJ to have a discussion with him for several minutes. The point behind the discussion was that while Cal had a right to eat sweets on a daily basis, he had to consume less of them whenever he did a workout. There had to be a moderate but decent amount of sugar in order to maintain a healthy diet. Cal also happened to be ill-prepared as he brought nothing else to wear other than his short khaki pants, so EJ had to lend him some pants in compensation.
Cal would remain childish on his first run until he evolved into a Super Soldier, it was the moment he developed self-awareness and confidence in his new profound abilties. Since then, he would often bring his plastic pumpkin with his wearable hook every where he went, except it was set ablaze, and he was acting like a pirate. Of course, it would take him a week to realize how annoying he could be if he kept playing a pirate. He had also developed an alert capability to use his hook to his advantage on certain situations, i.e. clinging onto a cliff during a landslide. Initially, he would swing around with his hook. His Juggernaut form would prompt him to wear his still-burning plastic pumpkin on his head, like he was the mythical Ghost Rider or something. Either in two forms, Cal managed to make most (if not all) people laugh, and Cal was pleased to see them genuinely enjoying it.
A week later, Cal gained an honorable discharge from the project and was dropped at the bus station in Santo Tomas. He then opted to take another bus for the city's neighbor Redwood City, only to be blocked by an equally big soldier, who informed him of a current situation in Redwood City. Cal was dismayed but the soldier assured that the situation in Redwood would die down. However, that would take few months, so Cal would have to reside in a hotel for a week or longer. A week prior to Cal's departure from the mountain base, his parents in Redwood City had finally come to realize the fact that the group of hunks sent Cal away in a crate, and their possible involvement in dozens of high school and college students gone missing. So they and many parents rallied up against any big males roaming around the small city, ignoring big females however. The group of hunks who sent Cal away was also of what the current situation had become and prompted to flee into Santo Tomas, but Cal's parents and angry parents took notice and went after them till they lost track of the hunks. Those hunks also happened to stumble into Cal, who was buying instant noodle cups at the time.
