Never really settled on an explanation for the situation. I suppose that even for otters, pregnancy isn't always the wondrous thing it's made out to be, especially when she gets that large and tight. Or at least every moment isn't fun and games.
Primarily, I just wanted to try my paw at getting an angle more from the back without her seeming all flirty (one of my quirks as an artist is that even when I have the artistic ability to do something, if I've seen it a lot, I tend to avoid doing it for fear that I will make it a cliche; so I have to take a different approach. In this case, depict a pose of pregnancy that is typically flirty, without being flirty. At least, I have some memory of having seen such art pieces before, but cannot for the life of me recall having actually seen specific clean examples).
