Na'Nfr finds that looking bold and dangerous in his Guild colors and that very large sword does seem to discourage any pick-pockets, but also serves to encourage the interests of impressionable juveniles - especially the female type, judging from the admiring glances Aubrelle keeps stealing.
When Whault puts the idol on the counter, her flirting fades as she returns to a more business like demeanor. She eyes the carving curiously, reaching out to touch it, but then catches herself short. "Ummmm. It's not magic, is it?" she asks nervously. "A lot of stuff coming back with adventurers often have dangerous magics or curses. I've never seen anything like THIS before. I'm not sure where you might be able to sell it. I guess it depends on whether or not it's magic. I've heard there's a shop somewhere in town that buys antiques and art kinds of loot, but I'm not sure where it is..."
Oddly, when you look at the idol, it seems more detailed then you remember it being, the carving almost delicate. If it were not for the hideous monstrosity that is the subject of the carving, it could almost be called exquisite. Is it is, the baleful eye of the figuring seems to glare at you with an almost palpable malevolence, it's gaze dark, hungry and...patient. Or so it seems. Of course, it IS just a carving...
Marissa finds a lot of non-magical adventuring equipment, some of which would even be suited to a sorceress, but almost everything in this shop seems mundane. There are a few common magical items for sale - tanglefoot bags, thunderstones, even a decrepit looking sunrod. Mostly though, this shop contains more practical items like weapons, armor, lanterns, travel rations, ropes and climbing gear.

Whault chuckles with embarrassment in response to Aubelle's question. "I'm... Actually not sure. Kinda new to this whole 'adventurer' thing. Eh he he... Just a second." He flashes a toothy grin for a moment before focusing his attention on the curious little carving.
(( I'd like to cast Detect Magic and see if I can figure whether it's magical or not. XD
While I'm at it, if I'm able, I'd like to do the same for the rest of the items gathered from the caverns, provided I'm able to. I assume no one would have an issue with this. ))

((Okay, casting detect magic and having a look around is a very short action, so I'm going to just reply to what you find here, going by the order we discussed in IM))
Muttering a quick chant and gesturing towards his eyes, Whault empowers himself with a detect magic spell. Right away he can see there is no overt magic on the idol, although there appears to be a faint aura around it, as if some great magics were worked on it long ago.
A quick glance at the breastplate he is wearing shows Whault that neither it, nor the floppy green hat he had wrapped the statue in have any magical auras he can detect.
Coming back to the statue, studying it for a moment longer tells the Favored Soul very little. Whatever magics were worked on this idol were done long ago, and the aura is very faint. Still, to have an aura after so long, the spells must have been truly powerful.
A quick glance around the room shows him that each of them has something magical on their persons, but he will have to look closer to determine what has the auras and what does not...

After his initial investigation, Whault turns to Na'nfr, Mekie and Marissa. "I believe you each may have picked up a few magical items from the cavern under the temple. If you like, I might be able to determine which they are."

Na'Nfr blinks in response, ears perking a little before he leans his head back a little to look at the shoulder of his 'trophy' maille that he is wearing even now.. He nods pleasantly to Whault, then smiles to the clerk pleasantly enough as he says a soft "You would think the guild would warn us of such things in our trainings.."
mekkie giggles happily at the deal she just struck and watches as whault makes his magic looking at the statue. "hmmmm its an ugly little guy and he gives me the feeling of bad juju...we should ask some questions on the way to the alchemists shop for smiles mushrooms" (i would like to roll a gather information check when we do leave this place so i can ask a few people on the way to the alchemists were this other place might be she mentiond)
