I made this piece for my friend  BenBandicoot for his birthday, and also wrote a short story about it.

Kat woke up and after checking a marked calendar, realized that today was Ben’s birthday, so the hybrid quickly tried remembering if he had asked Ben what he’d want for his birthday, and as luck would have it- he did. In a past conversation Ben explained that he’d love to meet a transient and/or someone from Crash Bandicoot’s world, so Kat ran out of the base and proceeded to quickly put together a surprise for Ben. Kat didn’t have to search for very long before he stumbled upon both Behemoth, a transient from the gate of Gehenna, and Dingodile, who was the proud owner of a restaurant in the swamp. Kat approached them and explained his situation, and thankfully they were willing to go along with Kat’s idea.

The next step was making a cake for Ben, and after some discussion, it was agreed that Dingodile would bake the cake itself, Behemoth would put frosting on it, and Kat was in charge of putting the strawberries on top (this was because Kat had the least experience with baking though the keenest eye for detail and symmetry). So after a few hours (a few of which were dedicated to making sure Dingodile didn’t put anything inedible in the cake), the trio had put together a tasty looking strawberry cake like you’d see in an anime, and while making the cake went without incident, Kat isn’t so lucky all the time. When the guys were getting cleaned up after making the cake, they came back into the kitchen to realize the cake (which they put into a neat little white box) was gone.

There wasn’t enough time to make Ben a completely new cake, though thankfully all hope wasn’t lost. Behemoth used his nose to discover a scent trail that led to a suspicious portal right outside the base. The trio went inside the portal, and were met with Dr.Nefarious Tropy of all people, with the white box in his hands, going off on how he nabbed some crystals that they tried hiding within the box. The trio tried convincing N.Tropy that inside the box was only a cake, though the self proclaimed master of time refuses to listen to reason, so it’s at this point that Kat and Dingodile proceed to fight N.Tropy, Kat with his nimble parkour skills to hop across the platforms that N.Tropy conjured up, and Dingodile to attack from a distance with his vacuum cannon.

After that battle, the trio recovered the box and left through the same time portal they used to get there. Thankfully the cake was still in perfect condition, so Kat called Ben back to the base, and needless to say- Ben was overjoyed from seeing not only the cake, but Behemoth and Dingodile too.

Happy birthday Ben, I hope you see this, and I hope you’re having a good day. You often help me with writing when I’m stuck or have a block, and aside from that you’ve been a good friend to me for years now, so I hope you feel the same about me.
