Poor girl getting so overdue.
And no, that's a street lamp pole.
She's a golden otter of the world Alamanthea, known to the Norse as the Realm of Alfheim.
Their technology compared to us is fairly advanced. Because of a weasel named Keldrin who 200 earth years earlier (Alamanthea years are double the length of ours) who performed a number of experiments to help his mate be able to bear children, their knowledge in the department of pregnancy health advanced leaps and bounds. However, while most Alamanthean residents know of Keldrin, most don't know he is still alive.
One of his experiments produced a substance that could keep living cells in a state of timeless suspension. When it seemed like his mate would finally be able to have a child, an unforeseen complication arose, one that he didn't have the technology to fix. He used the suspension to keep both he and his pregnant mate preserved until such a time that the needed technology was available. When his lab was found shortly thereafter, reporters made many details of Keldrin's discoveries known, as Keldrin had believed that society would reject his work and kept everything secret. While everyone knew he intended to keep it secret, most of society was led to believe that Keldrin and his mate had died from his failed efforts to destroy his lab (which he did attempt to do) and most of his documentation. But in the century of his suspension animation, his work revolutionized everything.
Unfortunately, the special government organization that kept the fact of his still being alive a secret from the public faced a sudden outbreak of the Burst microbe. Knowing the finer details of his notes, they knew only Keldrin had the intellect and experience working in the experimental to possibly find a cure. So they got together all the funding they could to make sure Keldrin would have everything he needed to both help his mate and unborn daughter, and cure the Burst before females of their society would be forced to tank their population by refusing to get pregnant altogether.
Keldrin, upon awakening and being persuaded to help this government organization, did find a treatment: only one mammal species of their world never suffered from the Burst. The ohja (original species, haven't made a complete sketch yet) possessed a hormone that neutralized the Burst from functioning or spreading. Thanks to many ohja females donating the hormone to make the treatments widespread, the Burst finally came under control.
However, the hormone did have a side effect... pregnancies became a bit more prolific and prolonged... while this situation didn't pose a danger to the mother or her unborn offspring, it did make pregnancy quite a bit awkward and heavy towards the end.

Ohja hormone tends to be tricky to predict. She's already a week overdue (a month by human standards), and carrying five cubs... which is more than the standard max of three for this particular otter species.
It's not impossible for her to go another two weeks. But how that will physically affect her is beyond anyone's guess. Her body might nope out of pregnancy afterward for a good while, or she might need to get pregnant again.
All we can say is swimming is a lot harder with her streamlined form so interrupted.
