In this universe, while there are some who do prefer to transform only during a full moon, they can now control their powers to transform whenever they want thanks to the use of magic and potions. While it's not perfect, it can be done and is shown here.

While not 100% explained here, she is capable of returning to human form as can Clayton. While Carlotta might prefer to be a wolf, the option is always there to transform back if its needed..
The potion is designed to work with the user to become whatever form they want and make it easy and painless to switch back and forth.
