Also, small continuity error: In the chapter where he's electrocuted, the RDIF is fried and they resort to CPR, but here it's working?

What's an RDIF? It was the AED (automated external defibrillator) that got fried in the bowling alley (Ch. 16). As Pistachio's heart hasn't stopped in this chapter, there would be no need to deploy an AED here.

AED! Yes, that's what I meant! I was just pointing out that he seems to refer to the first AED being in working condition.

Ah, I see what you're referring to. I guess I didn't make it clear enough. Then again, it's Pistachio describing this. Other humans: Paramedics. They hadn't arrived yet in Ch. 16, but their vehicle was referenced near the end of the chapter: "In the distance outside red lights flashed...". A paramedic unit would have its own version of an AED in their equipment or they use to in the past prior to AEDs being made available just about everywhere. So, he's describing what happened after the students had started CPR.

Of course, could I recall the term I wanted above? Nope. Many paramedic units in the US have a manual defibrillator which needs specialized training to use (vs. the AED). The manual version is what Pistachio is describing to Abigail.
