Another fine specimen you were waiting for me to tackle! You remember Baloo, the carefree, music-loving sloth bear who teaches Mowgli about how to survive in the jungle. It's actually fitting for me to draw him wearing a bathing suit, because, hello! The scene where they float down a river! As far as book loyalty goes, he's in pretty stark contrast with his counterpart. Making him a sloth bear makes sense from a geographical standpoint, but in the novel, he's a stern, brown bear, kind of like me whenever I write journals.

As a sidenote, I think it goes without saying that Disney seems to have lost what made it so popular in the first place. Gone are the days when they created beloved movies and characters. What we get instead is news about the next remake Star Wars or Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Putting in some pretty touchy topics doesn't help matters, either. So Disney seems to be undergoing some sort of identity crisis, one far worse than what they suffered during the 70's and 80's. And if you recall my journal about their direct-to-DVD titles are anything to go by, they often take the classic "have them coming back for more" slogan for granted. Any Disney-related fanart is meant to serve as a reminder of a bygone era. Here's some advice, Disney, how about you go back to making animated movies? Third or fourth time would definitely be the charm here.
