Talk about bringing Amtrack back to Phoenix - been cancelled since 1995 after the Sunset Limited disaster - someone sabotaged the tracks and caused a bad wreck. Case never solved

Glower Attack, it is super effective! So how long are the excursion trips on that RR? Here in AZ we have the Verde Canyon RR - short trip along old mining train tracks along the Verde River Canyon and the Grand Canyon RR that runs from Williams AZ to the Grand Canyon on the old Santa Fe line. That one runs a mix of steam and diesel locomotives. Verde runs only diesel

The main excursion goes 134 miles from Springdale to Van Buren and back, with a layover in Winslow while a second group goes from Van Buren to Winslow and back.

We're 100% vintage Alco C-420s on the excursions, with a back to back pair doing the honors.

Good long ride then. Funny, I've never taken a long train ride in the US. Did a nice long run in Norway - Bergen to Bodo - crossed the Arctic Circle. Neat ride in Summer - 24 hour daylight

Well my trip was back in 1981, probably not that person then. Was about the one thing I did like during that visit. First half was my brother's Funeral. I wanted to go home with dad afterwards. Mom and Grandma did the trip as a surprise to cheer me up. Jeebus, been 40 years now

I bought some ¢heap slip-on Topsider slip-on clones from MALL*WART this week, <$8. Nice and light, suitable for trotting out to pick up the mail or driving to pick up a prescription (or dinner). No arch support at all; after an hour on my feet it feels like I did the Monster Mash for the whole time. Must try dropping some Dr. Scholl's in there. Best $40 I ever spent.
