Its what Liz considers the time and effort she has to put into doing a commission to be worth, and given the quality of her work and her popularity I'm not gonna complain about it. If you don't want to pay Liz's prices there are numerous other artists out there offering commissions, if you are lucky you might even find someone with similar quality to Liz and prices that are more to your liking, good luck on getting a spot though unless they are not well known.
Without adding too much to the debate:
Take whatever the minimum wage is where you are.
Multiply by the time - often several hours - it takes to do the drawing. (especially a full color, special effects and all jobbie like this)
Now realize a skilled artist is not going to want the same kind of money you could make flipping burgers at MickeyD's.
If it's still too much for you, well, too damn bad - guess you ain't getting any nice arts. MORE FOR ME!

Well, my "real" job wouldn't even pay my monthy rent, let alone bills & groceries & whatnot. My art in the other hand was enough to support me for a 7 month period in the past, and I could do that again; the part-time job is just an extra "security blanket" source of income in case I have a slow commission month (because people aren't buying, I have to prep for a con, or whatever else would prevent me from taking new work).
So long story short: I am semi-pro, but only because I'm not 100% ready to fully jump into freelance as my only income.

Yeah -- the few times I've done anything with SW, it's usually imagining myself as a bounty hunter.
Though I have to admit to some major fondness for the warlike Sith cult called the Sun Guard. If only because I like melee combat and they're among the best people at it besides the Jedi and Sith. (Yes! Kick Jedi/Sith a**, my badass mundanes!)

I don't know. The Dark Side is so overrated. People should try for a Gray Paladin. (one who has left the order but not turned ark, or ones who have a similar training but different philosophy than the Jedi. Such as Laranth Tarak, who doesn't specialize in the lightsaber but uses twin blasters. )
*prrfles, blushing not only from the picture itself, but from the reaction to it* Prrf! Didn't realize she'd be so popular, considering this is just a "What if" type of thing. =O.O=
In any case, in case I haven't said it before, awesome job with the new coloring technique! I still like how the blue contrasts with the red there. That and her sadistic, Joker-like grin make her look absolutely SCARY. But in a GOOD way. =O.O=
Totally worth commissioning you to do this. Thanks again! ^^;
