Sinking Feeling (by Keewata)
A commission by the talented
keewata, also featuring
lampshadeheadman's Korban!
Korban was never the easiest partner to go adventuring with. Seemed to just have to complain about every little thing. "It's too hot here," "Why are we even helping those strangers", "When can we get back on the road", "Why is the ground here so soft", "What's that annoying buzzing noise", nag nag nag...
...okay, he may have had a point a few of those times. But what is an adventure without action and danger?
Korban assured me his magic could get us out of this unfortunate situation, but with those giant wasps closing in, he needs some time to weave the arcane energies together. But that's exactly why you travel with a warrior - to keep the nasty things at bay. With sword, shield and fire, I can keep them off his back while he conjures up his spell. Hopefully in time.

That's what I keep saying! Of course, quicksand comes in other varieties too. I particularly enjoy the desert variety, y'know, the kind that shows up as a floor trap in the floors of ancient Egyptian tombs? Swamp quicksand has its perks too, like occurring near sentient, symbiotic vine plants that grab victims and pull them in.
