"Today I reached the Margrop. After that there will be non-stop swimming. I feel tired just thinking about it...
I had just arrived, when suddenly, I was surrounded by some mermaids. Looking closer, I noticed their webbed hands and choices of garment.
They were merrow raiders! Thankfully, I had brought nothing of value with me!
Then, most of them went on at their hunt, but some camped near me... They are still watching me as I am writing this.
However, I'm not that scared. After all, they won't eat me! And though they seem interested, I don't think they will take my diary.
Now I have to rest. From tomorrow, I won't have a floor to stand on."
Suddenly, a merrow! And since it's May the Fourth, it's based on our fellow Tusken Raiders! Merrows, also known as Siyokoy, are another race of mermaids, describable as between a mermaid and a fish. They have some features that makes them a primitive relative to mermaids. Common merrow traits are webbed hands, external gills, less developed arms, more fins, a more fish-like head. Some may even look like a slightly more anthropomorphic fish. In coastal regions, the merrow tribes were slowly eliminated by the other mermaid races. However, most of the deep ocean is inhabited my a multitude of merrows. The Lamprey tribe lives in the deep ocean, down the Margrop (merspeak for the continental slope), but climb up to the continental shelf to raid mermaid villages.
