"Thanks to the sirens I was able to travel a large distance.
We were heading North, and since my destination was southward, I detached myself from them.
Fortunately, I found myself a new ride! I met Mola mermaid! She was drifting at the surface, basking in the sun.
Despite many sayings about their hospitality, she was rather unfriendly. It was clear that she was tired though...
She let me cling to her only if I didn't talk to her afterwards, and so I went on my journey in silence...
She wasn't as big as the sirens, but her imposing stature kept some harpies away... Let's hope this journey will continue without a hitch..."
From a sea giant to another, here we meet a Mola mermaid. They are considered to be the biggest tribe of mermaids in the ocean. They are known as gentle giants, that often shield smaller mermaids and help in heavy work. Mola mermaids are also amazing nannies, that can help look after even large schools of children. However, all this hard work can put up much stress on these mermaids, so they have a specific day every week where they tone it down, relax and bask in the sun. Since some desperately need rest, they could be unfriendly or even hostile in their free day. Making a Mola mermaid angry on their free day is easy, but some say that experiencing a Mola mermaid's wrath on their working day is worse than getting caught in a thunderstorm.
