108F in Seattle! Damn!
And Red Shetland took her revenge upon me for my *minor* exploration of her intimates storage location. I mean, sheesh! It was innocent curiousity! Roos don't wear underwear, so I had no idea, right? And who stores delicious little red TicTacs in their dresser drawer like that anyways?
It's cooler today, but geez, sunburns can smart!
ARTIST NOTE: This is part of an 'art zap' or 'art war'. It's fun, silly, and the people involved do not take offense. We poke fun at each other and enjoy getting zinged in return. It's also quite enjoyable to follow a story or theme from different artists.
SOFTWARE: Clip Studio Paint. I love this program for its ability to represent traditional media in a digital form. I leave the roughs layer in the drawing, turn the opacity down to about 20% and lightly haze erase the most offending lines but leave most of it behind. This adds a nice organic underdrawing effect that shows up in the final. Try it for yourself. It helps get around the sterile black and white inked stage of most digital work.

I suppose Flinters could be a Red-Necked Wallaby (which despite the name has nothing to do with yokels, nor any relation to your pony lady). The males grow up to about 80cm tall.
Though I'm still having difficulty picturing him as a wallaby when he goes by the name of Flinters Roo....
...Also because a key difference between kangaroos and wallabies is that a kangaroo when standing upright has only half of his/her tail resting on the ground, whereas when a wallaby is standing, their bum is almost touching the earth. Flinters legs are a bit spindly for that.

NO!!! Don't do that, that just encourages him to whine, grovel and cry for more. Last time I sent him some powdered mint chocolate powder, he just rubbed it all over his body and rolled on his bed afterwards.
You know what its like to watch him dry hump your leg to get that mint? I do, Its not a pretty picture!!

Here in Spokane, it was 111 F today. And it'll still get to 108 F tomorrow. >_< And I don't have my new air conditioner yet (it's coming, but not in time for this particular heatwave). And I had to take my dog to a vet appointment today, where they made me wait outside (because they weren't letting the humans in). It was morning at that time, so not to the worst of the heat yet, but still not exactly pleasant. And I don't have a car, so I didn't have somewhere nice and cool to wait, like the other people. And my poor dog got the beginning of burns on her pawpads on the way from the bus stop. After the vet people alerted me to that, I picked her up and carried her when I had to walk on hot pavement. I feel a bit guilty for not doing so earlier, but it was morning...I didn't think the pavement was that hot yet. She refuses to wear those little doggy-boots that would protect her. The hottest day just HAD to fall on vet-trip-day, gah.
Just remember, treat sunburn with aloe shave foam (old school style, not alcohol free!) -- the mild alcohol they contain helps to cool the radiation burn, and the array of skin moisturizers work together to improve skin elasticity, health, and recoverability from the heat damage. Sure you look like a poodle or sheep for a bit, but it wears off...
