You no touch candle!

Fun fact! Back in the 70's, Kobolds were always considered small doglike people in gaming. For some reason, over the next 10 years or so they evolved into small ratlike people. It was only in the late 80's and through the 90's that we've seen them turn into lizard people in recent gaming, so the WoW Kobolds are sort of an homage to that middle era of Kobold development. :3

:U That's interesting. At least the development from dogs to rats makes more sense than magically changing into lizards, I suppose. Though I've also seen the term applied to just about any small ugly creature, so perhaps it's tied to some real-life folklore, like redcaps and faeries and all that.

Oh yeah I believe the older usages of the word Kobold applies to small, ugly gnome-like fae critters who mean people harm. Redcaps freak me right the fuck out btw. D:!!!

I think now they're supposed to be distantly related to dragons . . . whatevers, D&D.
