Part 6:
Hello everyone. Sorry for taking so long to get back to this series. I had writers block preventing me from making the rest of this series. But for now, my mind is getting back to me, so I might as well get back to this while I can!
Thanks to
LoverK90 for making these a long while ago. Go give them love and get a commission while you are at it. For now, though, enjoy Part 4!
Impmon was having fun with Terriermon, Lopmon, Gatomon, and Veemon all together in Henry's house, enjoying a very large platter of foods and laughing at corny jokes, but with noontime settled and gone, Impmon had to return back to his hunt. With a wave to the big happy party in the house, Impmon walked to the window of the large apartment complex and leapt out to the rooftops once more. He needed to get back to checking around the town to see all that was happening in town. Big digimon all of a sudden was one thing, but not seeing any of the Tamers or humans was starting to make him wonder.
He hopped along the rooftops, now starting to get into the city proper. Though the wind was cool, the sun was out in force and shining down onto the tiles, making it a very hot sprint over everything. Impmon's feet were practically yelling up at him as he tried to power through the heat, but eventually he had to give up on the direct route. With a hop and a jump he leapt from balcony to balcony, heading himself down to the alleys to find a bit of shade and cover in case any random humans were walking by. Once there, he kept up his pace as he ducked and weaved from alley to alley.
He was panting a little bit now, his pace a little slower as he tried to catch his breath. He spotted a drink on a window sill, and quickly swiped it, drinking it down with a satisfying "Aaaaah~" He wiped his face and set the glass down. An icy wave of dread suddenly flowed from his back over to his neck, making him stand at attention as he looked really quickly in the window. Renamon was inside, looking right back at him. Seems he had swiped her drink from the windowsill, but that wasn't the only changed thing about the fox. Before he could think about it, he dove down and took off into a full sprint, as a small cloud of razor sharp diamonds shot out of the window, intended for his head.
He needed to hide, and FAST! Renamon is PISSED, and if she catches him, he's dead meat for sure! He knew he would have a speed advantage, but only for so long. He took 2 lefts down more alleys, circling around the familiar and small building, before he found exactly what he needed. He kicked the corner of a stack of boxes, scattering them on the ground and angling them like he ran past them, then doubled right back into one of the boxes, picking a pet box with holes in it near the back of the stack. With him neatly loafed into the box, he waited.
A half minute later, Renamon waddled her way to the scene. She was grunting, huffing, and rubbing on her back a bit as her other large paw held underneath her large girth. She spotted the boxes all over the ground, spilled bread all around it, and blew a few of the boxes away with diamond spurts. She panted aloud, about to carry on, when a nearby door opened up, with a very high and friendly voice sounding out from the entrance. "Hai Renamon!" Impmon looked over, doing his best not to jostle the box, to see a large white orb matching Renamons waddle out the door and faced her. Guilmon's wide smile was ever happy, not even phased by his big belly as he picked up a loaf of bread off the ground and began munching on it. "What Renamon doing?"
Renamon just growled out loudly to him. "You saw it!" Guilmon meeped at her loud angry outburst, and shook his head. "What? But you were..." She huffed and crossed her arms, trying to regain her cool composure with the friendly oaf. "Impmon was here. He stole my Lemonade, right out of the window!" Guilmon's ear flaps stood up, and his bread crumb covered smile widened. "Impmon! Is Impmon Big and stuffed and happy too!?" Renamon snapped quickly. "No, he wasn't! And that's no excuse!" She sighed again, trying to be cool and not show THAT much emotion, but she was failing pretty badly. "That was my lemonade... I didn't even get a sip..." Impmon gulped lightly, realizing the severity of what he did.
Guilmon just smiled wider and raised his hand up, the loaves that were on the street now gone and his belly and mouth a graveyard of crumbs. "That OK! Guilmon just get Mommon and Mommon to pour more!" Impmon's eyes went wide. Oh shoot, NOW it makes sense! This is where Takato's family lives baking bread, and Rika's mom was planning some kinda party for Takato and Rika when they got back from their expedition in the digital world today! Renamon and Guilmon must be here to help... and Impmon managed to bumble in and piss Renamon off. "Guilmon! They are bigger then we are!" Impmon's eyes shrunk at that proclamation, and he just got his answer he was wondering.
Renamon sighed aloud. "He's gone now... Trying to chase now wouldn't help at all." Guilmon nodded his head. "That right! Come on! We help with party, we get more snacks and drinks!" Renamon finally regained her cool, and waddled her way past Guilmon, into the door and back to the kitchen area. Guilmon raised an ear, then looked to the boxes, waddling his way over to the single pet box against the wall, and bent down. "... Impmon, Renamon is angry. Stealing is not nice, Takatomon told you that." Impmon didn't reply... but he did pop his head out of the box to deliver Guilmon's big nose a quick kiss, and one on his belly. Guilmon smiled widely as his belly kicked. "Guilmon forgive you. Be nice." He waddled back in after Renamon.
Impmon took note he needed to give Renamon a good back massage when he gets back, and hopped out of the box and went back to running. He needed to get to the park, as quickly as he could. He had a feeling that he needed to be there. Meanwhile, in the bakery, a nice soft laugh was heard, followed by a sigh. "Oh dear... I was absent as a mother for Rika all of this time, and now she's going to be coming back home to find she has siblings now... She's going to feel rejected all over again." A nicer voice sounded out, as sweet as the sweet breads she makes. "It'll be fine, Rumiko. I don't know how this all came about either, but... I can't help but feel happy at all this. I DID want some more hands in the bakery after all." The voice agreed, and through the window, two aproned motherly figures got up, their bellies making a big outline on the street outside from the lights inside. "Now, let's get back to work. The sooner we get this party ready, the sooner we can get off our feet and eat!" Laughter came from the bakery once more.
