A kiddie pool, a snorkel, and a few bags of ice serves me nicely when a heat wave strikes. Cathy, on the other hand, just seems to enjoy the sun. She's weird that way.
This wonderful piece was inspired by a real heat wave that moved through my area a month or so ago. All-time temperature records were smashed, and it was just. Not. Fun. This is exactly what I wanted to do.
