Bani Bani was the 58th Monster of the week to be Featured in Ep.54 of the UFO Robot Grendizer tv series, and was the shows second Vega Beast. Once a Giant Purple Bird & Giant yellow Snake it was combine using with Vegatron Energy to turn the two creatures into one Vega Beast; in the episode, it was use to distract Team Grendizer to Vega's true intentions, and despite its demise, is one of the few Beasts to succeed in it intended role.
Bani was an anthropomorphic Beast, with the head of a bird in the chest, but the tail of a snake on top of the massive Purple torso; it sporting Blue and Yellow extremities, ending with hands and feet with sharp claws and a yellow abdomen. Its weapons were the tail, which would be use as a whiplash, as well coil on the enemy, and it it would release a energy discharge; it was capable of flight, breath Vegatron Fire from its mouth and Swim great depths, but been part organic, the Beast could only be underwater for sometime; indeed this weakness plays a role in its destruction at the hands of Koji and Maria.
By Command of King Vega, General Gandal and Minister Zuril proceed with the operation to build a the new Permanent Base on Earth, after collecting enough war materials needed. They create Bani Bani, fusing a Giant Bird and Giant Snake and launch it to Earth to distract Team Grendizer. The Space Center detects it and launches Team to confront Bani Bani in the middle of the Ocean; in the battle Bani outmaneuvers most of Grendizer's attacks while cutting one of the Spazer wings, and been impervious the other Spazers attacks, though Bani suddenly retreats, out speeding Grendizer, even when combine with Double Spazer, though the Mecha had to pull out of the chase when the Marine and Drill Spazers are attacked by Minifos, though these retreat when Grendizer showed up.
As the heroes search the ocean for the Beast, Vega begins the next face with the war materials been sent to the Pacific Ocean via a Tractor Beam, Zuril been inside a command capsule to begin construction.
Side note: Seriously, the way they do this is silly. They beam tons of materials from the Moon to the Main Battleship on Earth's orbit and throw it into the sea, causing a Huge Water spout that goes all the way to orbit (a ship even sends an SOS, before its destroyed) and I am like “How the hell the Space Center ignores this, when they have detected activity from this orbit before?”. What about that huge warping machine that brought King Gori and the Surviving Royal Fleet to Earth?.
As Team Grendizer continues the search, the Monster appears in the middle of Naval Fleet exercise and Maria calls for reinforcements; after destroying the ships, the Beast flies to attack a refinery. In the middle of the second fight, The Driller Spazer is shutdown and Maria is knocked out. Duke ejects Grendizer to save Maria, but Bani Bani coils its tail on the Mecha, unleashing an electric discharge. Hikaru uses Marine Cutter, freeing Grendizer, Koji lands to provided assistance to Maria with CPR only to be slapped by her.
Side Note 2: through out much of the Episode, the two are at each others throats due to their cocky attitudes. TEENAGERS, AMIRITE?!!! .... But wait, wouldn't Koji be like in 20's by this point?
Bani Bani retreats to the Depths once more, avoiding Hikaru's Missiles. Grendizer and Marine Spazer combine and go after the Monster, but are diverted away by underwater missiles; deducing a base is nearby, Duke and Hikaru investigate, his suspicions been confirm. Duke fires Hand Beam to Bani's eyes, while Maria fired Marine Missiles to the abdomen forcing it to resurface (this is due to the Organic side, despite been a Cyborg, Bani requires air). Koji and Maria finish off the Vega Beast with a Double Missile/Spark Bomber combo. Maria then proceeds to destroy the Underwater Base with Marine Missiles. Afterwards the heroes return to base, having accomplish their mission.

Unbeknownst to them, Zuril appears in a underwater crevasse, calling for Gandal to rendezvous with him, and begin construction of the true Underwater Base.
