I recently read an article in Skin&Ink about the traditional tattoos of Native Americans.

And since Hobby is a redskin and we both love beefcakes, this is what happened. Her character Sky Father, and my ink and coloring skills.

Made four versions since we couldn't choose.

Sorry if the tats are kinda lumpy and stuff, I have a hard time with symmetry and keeping my hands from shaking.

Tattoo Information: The dots on the face represent the number of scalps a warrior has collected. The spikes/plummage on the chest represent the number of wounds taken in battle. And the manitou/spirit guide is always represented in the tattoos (as well as an artifact such as skins or feathers worn). Tattoos near the mouth are either the belief the soul is reachable through the mouth, or that death swallows its victims whole.
