So this is the first chapter to a story where I kind of feel like I should give it more love than it has ever gotten but kind of am at the point of not entirely being sure how true to the original I should be. Fox Mage Magic (really should go with a new title eventually) is a rewrite of my "oldest" story. Technically I had a few others beforehand. I started writing back when I was 8 years old and at that time it was mainly me practically just ripping off the entire plots to movies or books I had read and just doing it in my own way. And there were a few done as copying the story of a dream I had had. But hey, give me a break, I was 8 at the time. And not going to lie, my stories back then were kind of garbage, as one can expect from a third grader so even if I still had them there's no way I'd upload any of them. Fox Mage Magic was a story I started writing in the 7th or 8th grade (so after writing for 4-5 years) and was more or less my first attempt at a truly original story line. It's also the first story I ever drew art for, drawing quite a few characters from it back in the day. Then in 2005 I was starting to feel like i wasn't writing because i wanted to but had to, which led me into a burnout and in that burnout I deleted every one of my older stories except this one.
But over time my writing improved to the point it just became too awkward to just keep writing since my writing was still fairly terrible back then. And then it stayed in limbo until I decided a couple years ago to just rewrite the entire thing from scratch, keeping the general plot and characters, sort of like what I've done with FA and SF's version of Nathanriel's Fate. I just haven't quite figured out just how faithful I should be in this story. Basic rundown of the story is a character that can turn into a bipedal fox is given a somewhat generic hero quest type story.

I don't mean to brag or anything, but I won one of the two grand prizes in a writing contest for LEGO Magazine when I was 8... My dad sent it in without my knowledge, and somehow a story about a prank call to the LEGO World City fire department saying the Titanic was sinking won. (Yeah, I have no idea, either. )
