Oh hey it's me again, with another one of these PC build updates. My previous case was a pleasure to work in, but the airflow was terrible. I bought a few more parts and will be selling a new build in my old case locally.

Storage: Crucial P1, 1 TB NVME SSD (boot) and Sabrent Rocket Q 4.0 2 TB NVME SSD (storage)
GPU: nVidia RTX 3080 Ti

My fellow hardware enthusiasts, what upgrades have ya'll performed in this horrible timeline?

Built a whole new one last summer just before everything went from kind-of-bad for buying stuff to oh-god-where-are-the-parts-at!? levels of shortages. Ryzen 5 3600X (just before the XTs came out), Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro, G.Skill Ripjaw 3.2k mhz 32gb kit, 2x Sabrent Rocket Q 2 tb NVME drives (started with one for boot + games, grabbed a second just for games), Gigabyte GTX 1660 (I probably should have spent the extra for a 2060 while they were still around, oh well), a SeaSonic 650w power supply, a Seagate Barracuda 2tb drive for misc media storage, and stuffed it all in a Fractal Designs R6 that's nice and roomy and quiet with no glass side panel. Not exactly the best thing ever, but it suits the needs for the games I play and whatnot.
Yeah, 1080p is all I'm doing. I have two Dell 24 inch monitors because at that point all the gaming-centric monitors were on month+ waiting lists and the such. I'm pretty content with it, don't need the fanciest things in life. The next splurge I'm likely to do is just, like, a wireless card that can do bluetooth and some sort of SATA SSD to replace the 2tb media drive.
Exactly (on Apple). My last non-PC hardware upgrade was 2012, but I went permanent remote for work and it's a necessity. M1 is okay. I really like the phone app support for some of the games I play. I love the new PC. I'll admit the build was more to get the case than new hardware (though I needed it). Love at first sight. :D
