Ever since I saw Scott Bear's rendering of 'Bella Lutrinae' (not long ago), I was enamored by the chubby otter gal, and enthralled by her interesting back story. I especially liked the part about her interests in alchemy and cooking. So, I'd decided to draw 'Bella' doing what she does best: cooking from within the kitchen of her lighthouse restaurant. Naturally, fish is on the menu...

I wanted to do a comic strip with 'Bella' and 'Rob Cat", in which the otter explains, "The best thing about cooking is, if something goes wrong with the recipe, you can always 'eat your mistake' and start over again", to which the bobcat asks, "So tell me, Bella. What have you made lately?" Patting her apron-covered girth, she replies, "What else? A whole lotta mistakes!"
