NEW BOY JUST DROPPED.
Meet Kaijo. He's a bluewing, a rare breed of semi-aquatic dragons that have adopted to nearshore environments. While they're still capable of flying, they are in fact excellent swimmers and use their powerful tails to propel themselves around the sea floor, foraging for molusks, and crustaceans. Occasionally, they will also eat fish, but they tend to prefer crabs. Kaijo, being a bit of an oddball, eats mostly seaweed. A habit his older sisters tease him for constantly.
While he loves water, he's also got an odd case of thalassophobia that he's trying to overcome. While he's still sometimes uncomfortable in deeper water, he's in fact becoming quite the excellent diver. Still not as good as his sisters, but he's getting there!
Mostly he's just a lovable soft goof who likes to do things his own way. His tribe, however, are super traditionalist and they don't always appreciate his unique style.
So I bought this guy from the stupendously talented and all around awesome @QuenGren on Twitter! I'm not sure what exactly I'm gonna use the guy for but I've been wanting to write a story about a tribe of sea dragons for some time. So I've invented a character for him and a species, based on QuenGren's design. Thanks again dude!
Anyway, planning to give Kaijo a story of his own sometime soon hopefully, when I have more time to write and all.
PS: Oh, and I got a new season of Spyro's Old Flame in the pipeline as well. In case anyone was wondering!
PSS: His name means "Sand".

Heh... seems I got a type huh? ^^
I'm still sketching out ideas for Kaijo's story, but I'm sensing a bit of Flame in him for sure. And Kaijo is going to be dealing with some of the same problems Flame have (struggling to fit in, annoying siblings...). He'll just be approaching them a little differently. SpyFlame to me was really about how shutting yourself off from the world can make you miserable and bitter. Kaijo doesn't really have it in him to cut people off, even when he ought to! He's more of a heart on his sleeves kinda guy. Flame is all about seeing the worst in everyone and himself. Kaijo is the opposite. So in a sense maybe he's got more in common with my Spyro! Just if Spyro never really had the skills to get as popular as he did!
