Freshly restored to his prime, it seems Max finds himself king again to appease a mob that gathered around the castle after Naugus' broadcast. I wonder what he would have said about the crown if Hamlin hadn't interrupted him? He seems a little... different either way. What does this all mean for Princess Sally acorn and Sonic the Hedgehog? Guess we'll find out!
Also an extra massive props to
Waimbert for drawing the crowd panels this time around! I wanted to see if he could draw an angry mob to make the place feel more alive and help with the story and he sure delivered with a wide range of unique Mobians in the background he created from scratch.
Here's the next collaboration page of the crossover comic I do with
Waimbert where I write the story, he draws the outlines for it and I do the rest.

Okay. This is weird. I know this is fanfiction, but this twist feels artificial. Considering the Prowlers before were able to raise half the city to their side to change the government.
And the crowd is crazy, THEY put in Naugus in power, NOT Hamlin. And Geoffrey was the one campaigning for Naugus, NOT Hamlin.
And the Acorns transiting from a absolute monarchy, to a constitutional monarchy was SALLY'S idea. Because half the people were sick of an absolute monarchy, but also there were still MANY traditionalists who weren't.
If the kingdom had still been an absolute monarchy when Naugus had struck, he'd have done far more damage.
So yeah... shifting back to an absolute monarchy ... this feels... regressive.

Are you trying to argue that angry mobs use logic and common sense when they're scared and need a scapegoat? XD
Also every time Naugus tried attacking in the past, the absolute monarchy was able to simply say no and drive him out, not worry about votes or others' opinions. He wouldn't have even had a chance to take over.
Not sure why you link Hamlin and Naugus either, Hamlin is just saying a new king can't just take over with the Council around. Plus the crowd voted Naugus in and he was a crook, do you really think they'd admit to themselves that they messed up royally, or do you think they'd find someone to blame instead?
You seriously overestimate how logical an angry mob can be in the heat of the moment lol. There is also the nostalgia factor to remember, where people remember "it was so much better back then" even if it wasn't, especially after learning their supposed hero was a crook that tried to brainwash them, compared to the prior king that at the very least had the best for the kingdom in mind, even if it annoyed the people.

Oh yeah, something else you also chose to ignore entirely is the fact Max himself said he plans to keep the Council together in an advisory role, as in he still plans to hear the will of the people even as king again.
If he crowned himself, told the crowd the Council is dissolved and that only his own will is what mattered, I'm sure the crowd would have reacted quite differently. It's the fact that not only is he promising them stability and familiarity again, but he's still keeping the instrument the people used to get their opinions across intact, which made them happy about the situation.
It wasn't going from one dictator to another, but from a sleezy liar to someone they knew that was promising something better and taking actions to prove it.

Never hurts to have a spell checker, always seems to be a word here or there misspelled each time XD
And yup, the spirit of the classic Archie world where anyone could wear anything, even before they started getting influenced by SEGA designs. As long as the guys wear little to nothing, I refuse to hear why all ladies need to cover up XD

That was very cathartic seeing everyone turn on Hamlin like that. He always seemed like the corrupt one. More interested in making everyone bend to his will rather then doing what was best for everyone. I wonder if the constitution allows for a recall election like California just did? Maybe Sticks there could take his place too. Get an inside track and find the proof that monarchy has secretly been controlled by the Stonecutters for generations!
lol would be funny if she were to join the council.
I wouldn't really call him corrupt, more a stickler to the rules even if it means getting in the way of our heroes doing their jobs to save the day... and if he gets to get under their skin while doing it, he considered it a bonus lol.
