So I unlocked a bit of new (to me) backstory lore for my girl, Selina “Circe” Raisch of Acheron. I’ve always known that she had been heavily traumatized before becoming vampire, that her home village was incredibly superstitious. I knew their reaction to her sudden discomfort around apotropaics and holy symbols -after being attacked by a Pactborn vampire- amounted to torture, and that she hides it all under a confident outer shell that very few ever see break.

What I didn’t know, was what marks it had left on her. What scars had been left behind and unable to be healed by her vampiric regeneration. And now I do. Two brands and the numerous bites of a lash. As if it would have done anything to “cast out” what they believed possessed her. It didn’t, for nothing had.
