“Well think about it,” they say. “Look at how far we’ve progressed in ten minutes. We were given a non-choice. The trainers are being released now. Even if we were becoming the most powerful pokemon ever, as we are now there’s still no possible chance of us beating however many trainers they have over there. And even if we went and tried to fight and turned around, that would still eat up a few minutes. And do you think we could not only climb that entire tower while fighting off the other trainers but also solve this puzzle in time before we lose our hands. She’s rigged the system against us such that only someone that could survive and spread this little curse would be able to get away. If we were turning into something too big to not draw a lot of attention we wouldn’t have fit through that hole. We need hands for this test and I would not be surprised if there was a complication put in in case we were turning into just a pokemon with hand-like appendages. So we’d need to be fast enough to get here in time and smart enough to not hesitate. And I would fully imagine there’s another failsafe in place such that if you had avoided looking at the moon or snuck away before it took you would be stopped. So I fully expect something only I can solve later on. Guaranteeing that we can only escape if it took hold. Basically we can only escape if we satisfy whatever conditions she has in mind on maximizing the chances of us spreading this curse.”

I can hear sounds start to come from directly below us, of orders being shouted out. They’ve clearly made it to the base of the tower, though that means I likely still have a few minutes head start unless one just flies up ahead, in which case I’d only have one to deal with at a time. Still don’t like my odds of having to fight, especially with a body I have no guarantee won’t end up betraying me anyway. But I also hear a click as the puzzle has been completed and I can hear the door in front of me start to open.

“Wallet!” I hear the other voice shout as I start trying to move towards the door. Cursing myself slightly I turn and then hop down, my body currently under my complete control for the moment. I grab the wallet and begin hobbling over towards the exit of this place, hoping that I’ll be able to get through all of this.
