Salizar might be the one vampire out of my core squad that has the most violent outbursts in reaction to/resulting from his traumas. He, like other vampires in his world older than 17th century, was dragged into the Night Eternal against his will and nothing was done about it for decades. That involuntary impotence on top of a heated temper thirsting for vengeance, egged on and dwelled upon by equally furious family members, gave way to unrelenting bloodlust and violence.

The scene here is most likely after he chased after the vampire-hunter-murderers of his (still human) mother and youngest brother and caught at least one of them. Or at least a memory of the pain he felt that resulted in the bloodshed he caused.
