Valyrym pretended he did not like it. He tossed it across the room, declared it an insult. A dragon, even a dragon kept prisoner, had no use for soft facsimiles of themselves.

Only, the little plush dragon did not remind Valyrym of himself.

It reminded him of his son.

When his caretaker found the little stuffed toy, nestled amidst Valyrym's bed of pillows, cushions, and other soft things, Alia knew it meant the world to him.

And that was even before she saw him cuddling it, or talking to it...and long before he ever told her about his son...
