Sorry, but your soul is non-refundable
For the most part, Moth enjoys her job as Goddess of the Dragon Underworld. She's well respected, magic powers and immortality are good benefits, and guiding the dead to the afterlife can prove to be an interesting experience. Unfortunately, her job gets pretty boring, as dragons are long lived creatures and don't die very often.
So to pass the time? She ventures up to Earth to fuck with the mortals, like any good deity would do.
She's a bit like The Devil and a djinn combined-- she'll grant you a wish, so long as you're willing to part with your soul. Though what most people don't know is that you don't have a soul, you are a soul; you have a body. Once you've made your wish you're then hers to be devoured, never to be taken to the afterlife or reincarnated (and she can eat any soul, not just that of dragons). Moth has very little sympathy for those willing to give up something as precious as their soul on a (often stupid) wish.
---
Old character spawned from when I was told by someone that in Christianity, animals do not go to heaven. Even though I know that's not a universal Christian belief now, it made me sad when I heard it many years ago, so I thought "What if each species has a different god/gods and afterlife and so on?" As a dragon-obsessed kid I made up a 'cast' of characters for the idea, Moth being one of them... I just never could think of a good design for her until just recently.

I try to always give a relevant comment when I put a piece in my favorites, but I'm having a hard time finding words to make the praise less generic: I just love it.
Her expression, her claws, the colors. That summarizes the best elements. And the face of the little soul right there :}

I really like the idea of "you don't have a soul, you are a soul". I guess it makes sense though. When someone dies, you don't refer to their corpse as [person's name], you refer to it as [person's name]'s body.
Hehe, the dorsal frill is very Evil-Lyn like, but it denotes an appropriate level of regality, being a goddess and all

I really, really love the backstory to this character, just as much as the artwork itself. I particularly like the part about being a soul and having a body, quite the thing to contemplate...and something I think I shall write down in my book of quotes.
As far as the beautiful artwork goes, I really love the lamenting look of the soul in her grasp as it realizes the mistake...and the contrast of her uncaring look is very hollowing. Just incredible all around, and this one really speaks to me!

Like any good diety would do...of course XD;
While Dragons can be complex creatures, your design is rather simplistic but gives off that gorgeous, cool look of a Djiin/Devilish figure @_@ especially love the frill on the back of her neck, like it was part of a dress piece if she transformed into a humanoid.
FUUUURG but an amazing story/design X3

Most people draw what we think of as a 'typical dragon' two horns wings long face and wings, etc. But this is a design that intrigues me. The colors have been used before, but the way you combined them made it stand out and appear vibrant. The triceratops crest at the base of the neck is something new and original. and you are one of the few people who can make a dragon have a great facial expression.
how did you do the parchment effect on the picture?

Some djinn do take souls as a price for their service. Anyhow, your idea is awesome, and I agree with you. Having bodies doesn't mean that anyone IS their bodies. We're all souls, with only a separation between species (and sometimes, gender, tough some souls actually do not have a gender) and anyone who gives up on their souls without a good reason is absolutely crazy, but that's just my opinion.
Your artwork is very nice. It looks very Disneyish. I love the expression of the little soul.
